Come to think of it, a lot of the new buildings on Dupont are being built in a way that they're the minimum distance from the tracks they can be. That would render placing tracks between those buildings and the existing tracks pretty difficult.
I've dreamt about the midtown line opening for years. Toronto North has been an LCBO for longer than it was an operational station, just a fun fact I learned while researching the idea.
The chicanes around the patios on Danforth are super narrow, Bloor has them that bit wider (though less "permanent" at the moment), and it's much better.
Yeah rumble strips is maybe a hair better than paint, and that's the thinnest hair I could find. Concrete, concrete, concrete. That's all we need. Concrete.
Confederate should be ready at some point next year for trains, according to MX's website. I hope the through tracks at WH will be worked on for the same time.
I imagine I'm using the wrong terminology. I mean track that's laid that could be used or at least have alternate track placed alongside for the most part. Looking at a map I'm misremembering just how many gaps there are but it'd be doable. I'm getting very fantasy-map-ish now though.
MX is gonna, eventually, do a great job linking everywhere to TO. If they're smart they're already looking at rail lines that bypass Toronto entirely, like mentioned above. The track is there and as soon as any RER is done the users will be there too.
