Aaah shit. Olivia Chow just made the kind of big, symbolic unforced error that can define a campaign as dead in the water. This could be her "religious schools funding" moment and I will not be surprised if much hay is made out of it.

This looks like a petty counter move to Tory's announcement that he will avoid debates unless all three main candidates are present. Now Tory's choices are either back out too and piss off more people, or show up and look silly for that announcement.

I'm not talking about numbers, I'm talking about "talk": chatter on social media, etc. Campaign war rooms and public perceptions are certainly swayed by that stuff, whether it affects numbers or not. And FWIW it seemed like Socks built his way up to around 6%, which, if it were going to Chow...

I, too, am really sick of the "whatever Chow does, it's wrong" meme. The fact is that Chow is a decent, hardworking public servant with solid policies and is by far the least full-of-shit person in this race. Those ought to be very big selling points after the last four years and I'm stunned...

Welp, today hasn't done much to change my feeling that no arrest will be made and all this will only come to any kind of closure through the election.
