    VIVA + York Region Transit

I saw on the express map there's a McCowan Express but there's no other mention on this - anyone know what kind of route is planned for that?

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I used to occasionally take a GO bus from Sheppard to Finch, and then transfer to YRT there, even before the full fare integration, it used to be only 50 cents to transfer from GO to YRT. It'd be cheaper than TTC and YRT. Given I'm on going one street, and there's a number of GO buses that...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Unfortunately, it seems like many people here are of the mindset that spending the billions to finish the line is a waste for something like "resiliency" - how often is there a fire? But... we do get routine weekend and evening closures of the Yonge line, so... I used to live at Yonge/Sheppard...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I think that's what it sounds like, but that's the thing, these kind of communications should not be ambiguous. I even tweeted them and haven't got a response. The schedule should be clear, otherwise how the hell are you supposed to ride it? But the rest of the stops starting from Unionville...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

So some GO buses are being re-routed to use 407 station instead due to some construction: https://www.metrolinx.com/en/news/some-go-bus-routes-detouring-due-to-enbridge-gas-line-construction- But uh, if I was coming from downtown, what time will the bus heading north leave the 407 station? It...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

GO already has these screens at most stations, as long as it's clear it should be sufficient. I found this concept difficult until going to some other places, since TTC does not run different lines on the same track like some places. I guess the only relevant example here would be knowing the...

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Given that we've never had real grass even at Exhibition Stadium, the new stadium needs to have it, no ifs and buts. Hopefully the Jays get it right. I don't know how it can be feasible to have a sliding grass field in Toronto, in that spot. Having something similar to what the other...

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

I can't see it being fathomable to have a stadium without a retractable roof here. It just seems like a non-starter. I agree the open air stadiums are a lot nicer aesthetically, but given there have always been attendance issues in April, it's a tough sell to expect fans to be sitting outdoors...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Just a general comment about the new Union bus terminal, based on this design, the buses will have to back up after picking up passengers. Isn't this kind of crazy? Given capacity was one of the issues at the old one, a design where the buses can can easily leave the bus bay like at the old...

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Of course they would, however taxpayers shouldn't fund this, we've been hosed enough. As long as it's paid for by the private sector it'll be awesome to see a new stadium.

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

I'll definitely miss the Dome considering there were so many great memories that happened there, it does feel sad that it'll be gone in the near future. However, a new stadium is definitely needed for the Blue Jays, it seems like many of you guys here aren't baseball fans, but if you've been to...

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

Hell, it'd be nice if they had an LED sign on the platform showing the train destination and estimated time of arrival. It can be annoying sometimes when the train is short turning like it does at St. Clair West and you don't know because the only place it'd show is at the front of the train and...

Great Platform Height Debate: Subway-Style Level Boarding for GO Trains

Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous how they build those wheelchair platforms, it should be level the whole way, for better boarding. And even at the wheelchair platform the CSA puts a board down for you to walk on. I wonder if there's a reason it is done that way, maybe they aren't allowed to have...

Great Platform Height Debate: Subway-Style Level Boarding for GO Trains

Hmm.. even if GO had something like the Utah train platforms, that's a pretty good compromise, and would help with boarding times. Though are there EMUs that are of that height? http://sites.ieee.org/sustech/files/2014/12/UTA-FrontRunner-2_web.jpg

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Looks like the transit cops are gonna use NFC phones to check fares, hmmmm... https://twitter.com/Transit122/status/694551844870320128

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

I believe there are a variety of reasons why they don't allow mixing of passengers for international flights. This is similar to what I've seen in airports like in Hong Kong and Tokyo. For customs reasons, it can prevent an arriving passenger handing an item (i.e. box of drugs) to another...

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

I really wonder what is so special about the train shed roof. Almost everyone thinks it's ugly and an eyesore and has no practical purpose. I wished they would have had the glass roof cover the entire thing, that'd be something, at least it'd enclose the area more.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

BRT is also pretty my second rate if you look at it that way, I guess it'd probably take a little more space than a LRT. However one advantage of BRT is the ability to run bus branching off from the BRT lanes to other destinations, not sure how exactly it'd be done, but this can be something to...

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

This is actually a great idea, I guess similar to how the UPX has a station on the west side of the main Union platforms, no reason you can't have another on the east side for SmartTrack. I had envisioned in my mind a tunneled section below the current tracks for SmartTrack, but this would be...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I think they can probably sell something like the occasional card in Montreal from booths or vending machines for people that don't have Presto, such as tourists. http://www.stm.info/en/info/fares/opus-cards-and-other-fare-media/occasional-card It's basically a paper RFID card that can store...
