    Toronto 2405 Lake Shore West | 109.6m | 33s | Winzen | Sweeny &Co

What's the merit of building a new street on this site, anyways? Unless you're developing all the property up to the south side of Superior Avenue, there's no purpose it can have that a driveway wouldn't fulfill (besides, of course, passing responsibility off to the city). Also is it just me...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Thank God, a traffic signal at Dissette! When I used the station just this fall, it sometimes took up to ten minutes just to leave the parking lot. I did notice they recently installed screens that are supposed to show when the next bus is to arrive, but the bus "loop" right now is more like a...

    19 Spadina Road (?, ?s)

I love the focus on it being Indigenous-led and owned. It's the perfect location for it - right at 16 Spadina Road, across the street, is the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto. Being right next to Lines 1 and 2, the Spadina Streetcar, and U of T can't hurt either.

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I'm more concerned about if the signs will be defaced or stolen. Naming the station Newtonbrook would also make any shifting of the station box or exits less conspicuous. Greenwood, High Park, and arguably Summerhill aren't on their respective streets, no need to repeat that.

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I still think the station should be called Newtonbrook, after the adjacent community. "Drewry" doesn't roll off the tongue, and "Cummer" is an easy target for immature vandals.

The Future of City-Owned Golf Courses in Toronto

Wow, so absolutely nothing of relevance came out of these studies and discussions. Why was I hoping for the bare minimum?

The Future of City-Owned Golf Courses in Toronto

It's small, but it's something. Reconfiguring the Dentonia course into a 9-hole course, instead of cramming 18 holes onto its footprint, is a sensible decision. In fact, if practice facilities and other infrastructure is put in place to appeal to a wider range of residents, it might attract more...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

That is a really disingenuous argument. Those ice roads are the ONLY form of road transportation for many of those communities, and there's nowhere in that article - or any source that I could find, for that matter - that says trees are actively being cut down this year. These winter roads need...

    Waterloo Vogue Residences | 83m | 21s | Bryton Capital | srm Architects

For the record, this is "Vogue" Residences, as in the Madonna single. Apparently being developed by Bryton Group. They have a website, but for a project so far along it's lacking in substance.

    Orangeville-Brampton Railway (OBRY)

The end of an era. I hope that the length from Streetsville to Mayfield can still be used for transit of some kind in Peel Region. I would also love for the northern portion to become a branch of a future Bolton GO line, but that's probably a wild dream at this point...

    Bradford West Gwillimbury Holland Haus | ?m | 8s | Isroc | Romanov Romanov

I've been meaning to make a post for this one! The Holland side of this lot has been empty for as long as I can remember, and this is probably the most ambitious project in the town right now. I just got skeptical when I tried doing some digging on Isroc a couple weeks ago and got pretty much...

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

I think because they're still protecting for a future extension to Jane Street. No matter how little has been done on that, it's still a proposal on the books...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

"Canceled" Station? "Mark Loves Highway 7" Station? Pickering Airport? You clearly had a lot of fun with this. Some actual gripes I have with this, though: Holland Landing has no 's in it, Mulock Road in Newmarket should really have a station, and the Barrie Line meets what's left of Viva Blue...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I took all my tests at the Newmarket location, and the G test took me three tries because you're expected to get up to speed on the 404, switch to the middle lane, switch back to the right lane, and get off the highway, in the short distance between Davis Drive and Green Lane. I was...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

As someone who relied on the York University GO station for a semester, and was coming from far beyond Vaughan, even a special case fare discount is badly needed for those York and Seneca students and teachers that used that connection...

    Richmond Hill Y8700 | 94m | 30s | Metroview

I hate how the proposal switched from brown and green with plenty of masonry to yet another quasi-futuristic blue glass point tower...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Threw together a quick diagram of what could be a good eastern extension alignment. I think that Sheppard's two options are really to either retrofit the line as an LRT, or to just continue extending it as the existing heavy rail line. Don Mills is just not a good transfer point - Agincourt and...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Got a Notice of Public Information Centre in the mail today for the 400-404 Link project. The notice says the MTO and AECOM "will review and assess environmental commitments made during the previous 2002 approved Route Planning EA Study, as well as assess any new impacts and prescribe new...

    Toronto The Allen District | ?m | ?s | CreateTO | Perkins + Will

They should really include a new school in this development, maybe even in the first phase, just because of how fast nearby neighbourhoods are going to grow... especially if the nearby stretch of Sheppard starts intensifying as well.
