Vicora Linkway Townhomes - Developer trying to purchase units

The issue I see is that this site is on the wrong side of the DVP from pretty much every amenity. When Line 5 opens, its only bus service will be the 100B that goes east to Wynford Stop and west to Thorncliffe. That service will need to really be ramped up to make it an attractive place to live...

    Conestoga Guelph Downtown Campus

Oh, that monster of a building always looked sort of intimidating. I hope the refurbishment adds some more colour to the area. Maybe a bit more vibrancy, as well, given that from my experience the university students tended to stay on the south side of the Speed/Eramosa Rivers.

    Barrie Debut Waterfront Residences | ?m | 33s | Gary Silverberg | Oleson Worland

April 23, 2023 Not sure what's going on here. It might be a ramp for the parking lot, but it also just looks like something fell:

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

It may be enough to postpone/avoid an expansion. At the very least, time and space can be saved by changing one small flight at each of Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal into one large flight at one of those cities.

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

Yes. I nearly added something about being able to access Ottawa and Montreal on the same line, but felt that was a bit too on-the-nose. I suppose it wasn't. The idea, of course, is that by making domestic travel more appealing by train, we can free up runway capacity for international flights.

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

Peterborough Airport could be even easier to reach and expand if there was rail service to the city from Toronto. Perhaps there should be passenger service reinstated between Toronto and Peterborough? I wonder if there are any plans for something like that.

    Toronto 100 Chalkfarm | 5.44m | 1s | Toronto District School Board | Gow Hastings

Up to 11 staff... and 41 parking spaces? What, are the preschoolers going to drive themselves to school?

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Sorry to report that Canada's Worst Driver ended a few years ago after 14 seasons, meaning we no longer have an incentive to keep our driver training so lax. Agreed on this front. I took my driving tests in Newmarket, which included the intimidating, steep 404 on-ramps, but I know some of my...

    Toronto 1039 Danforth Road | ?m | 14s | Lima

This is at Danforth Road and Brimley Road, about 100m south of Eglinton Ave East. Would be nice if there was a rapid transit stop around there....

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Don't be ridiculous. The Niagara River is a natural endpoint for Line 2, most of the ridership drops off after Stoney Creek already. Is transferring at the Peace Bridge Transit Terminal really such a hassle?

    Toronto 505 Parliament | 36.62m | 10s | Streetwise | RAW Design

In my opinion they're retaining the wrong façade.

    Toronto 5 Tangreen | 182.45m | 56s | CentreCourt | Arcadis

I like that the proposed east-west road is going to be public, but it needs more of a retail component. The architecture is boring and the site is too crowded, too. I think five towers would be better here than seven.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I've never taken a non-Barrie GO train in my life and I'm still a little salty about Kerr Street getting de-prioritized.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

You know what's REALLY overdue? More grade separation on the GO lines. Every time I pass by East Gwillimbury GO, I can't help but wonder what would prevent a Green Lane East overpass from being built. The road practically dives down to meet the tracks and then climbs back up again. Is it just...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

    1. Sutton may be equally as far from Toronto as Barrie is, but there is no need to cross the Holland Marsh to get there. 2. The amount of stops that would be required would mean it would not be useful at all for long-distance travel, with nowhere near enough ridership to be cost-efficient on...

    Toronto Lawrence Parktown Residences | 35.22m | 9s | Lawrence Parktown Residences | Bortolotto

Since when is 9 stories low-rise low-density? I don't think this is an issue if it sets a precedent for intensification on this street - this is one of the least arterial-like arterial road segments in the city, after all.

    Toronto Therme Spa/West Island at Ontario Place | 45.15m | 9s | Therme Group | Diamond Schmitt

As much as I personally think Therme would actually work well on the West Island, I do hope that a new 2100 car parking garage will make it that much easier to downsize nearby surface parking. It would be really nice to emphasize Exhibition GO as a way to get to the area, especially for people...

Not sure how I feel about 33 or 74... I prefer my home to be right-side up.

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

I concur with Northern Light. The reason London and Berlin can have such systems is because it's relatively easy to circumvent the downtown cores of those cities, given that they're both inland. The geography of Toronto is challenging to make that fair for anyone south of Dundas Street from the...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

As someone who lives and works in Barrie, absolutely. More off-peak train service here would make the city feel less isolated from Toronto and everything it has to offer on the weekends.
