    Toronto West Block Est. 1928, The LakeShore, and The LakeFront | 130.75m | 41s | Choice Properties | a—A

That parking area would be great space for the extension of the Bentway.

I hope they keep the question mark as part of the name. ;-)

Damn, what's next? The Hooters on Adelaide and John?

While those fins are nice, I just find the blue-green glazing does not work well with their terracotta colour. In my opinion, had the building been glazed with clear or reflective glass, they would have worked quite well.

I like the brick. The windows suck.

I'm not surprised by the absence of a large grocery store on the site. There is the new Farm Boy just west on Bathurst, and such a store would have been a competitor to the food stalls within the development. Shoppers offers food, but on a much smaller scale. A better location for any new...

I think twenty years may be optimistic. Regardless, the city and the developer are having it out at the LPAT right now. If the city prevails I don't expect to see anything happening any time soon.

Those arches are just sad - and a lost opportunity. But they were doomed the minute you could see pillars right behind them. From then on the question was how they were going to deal with the pillars. The answer is "not well."

Or the city could go in with the developer and see what can be arranged in getting some parkland over the tracks along with some development on the site. The park would be smaller, but come at a much lower cost than what the city has proposed - and has low-balled in terms of cost.

There is a bit of cladding up on the south side. I tried getting a shot on my phone, but as it was night and the cladding is black, I got nothing worth posting. If anyone happens by the site you may want to grab a shot.

The site will be developed eventually. Maybe this proposal, maybe something different. Right now nothing is happening. No one knows what a "new normal" will be. Too many crystal ball speculations. It could be like the old normal. Humanity isn't a "pandemic" to the Earth. That's rather...

Indeed. Too bad something like this wasn't built facing onto Queen Street.

    Toronto Kipling Station Transit Hub | ?m | 2s | Metrolinx | SAI

Not really. As others have noted the subway generally crawls into Kipling. Add to that, the trip up to ground level for connecting buses at Islington was a fraction of the time spent on now getting from Kipling station to the MiWay terminal. "Integration" doesn't seem terribly evident in the...

Yes, an opinion. And it's fine that you have one. But having an opinion on what all people in North America think about contemporary architecture is an opinion that goes a little too far. At least that's my opinion of your opinion.

    Mississauga M3 at M City | 260.29m | 77s | Rogers Real Estate | Arcadis

The trouble with Mississauga is that there isn't much to walk or bike to - except your home. There is no sidewalk culture - except for a few small exceptions.

    Toronto Rail Deck District | 227.23m | 70s | Craft Dev Corp | Sweeny &Co

Possible, but my impression is that the proponents want to build. There are far less expensive routes to take to wrest a high expropriation cost. There will be a limit on cost that the city is willing to incur. They will will simply walk once the cost is deemed to be too high or politically...

Then the proponent is spending a lot of money on a project they don't intend to build. Why would they be going through this exercise?
