There is a similar idea of making Drummundville a Hub for VIA. It was first discussed a few months ago, but it resurfaced in late June. The first article even mentions having (some? I assume light) maintenance done there and trains parked overnight. Not sure about the real need for maintenance...

I took it many time too ! I still remember Bonaventure station where I would be waiting for the Chaleur back to Montreal during late summer. If it comes back to life I will definitively ride it again !

It might be pushing it a bit, but are both projects mutually exclusive ? Isn't there space for both a train track and a bike path ?

Interesting article on the Mtl-Qc portion of the HFR project. $ 1.5 billion, approximately 450 millions for Trois-Rivières and the surroundings. Elimination of 88/112 crossings, travel time of 90 minutes. No mention of the Mont-Royal tunnel share between VIA and the REM...

There is some action going on at Ottawa station. The construction of the elevated platform has started and excavation crews were working today. Anybody knows when the project will be completed?

Adding more trains on the corridor is surely good for revenue and passenger numbers! Definitely looking foreward for the HFT!

Also used on some of the Ottawa-Qc City trains. Trains 20/24/29/37 are REN (I think also train 32 is). At least, 29 was REN 2 weeks ago and has been for the last few months.

To our understanding, the current estimates also take into consideration a Qc City-Montreal dedicated rail project which was not considered before.

Isn't it the 3rd time VIA test its RDCs in SW Ontario ? Is CN really that concerned about the safety of the RDCs ?
