    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

From what I understand this is an old logging road (private road). It has bridges but they are either overgrown with vegetation or virtually destroyed from a lack of maintenance. A double double should go to the first hoser who successfully navigates that road from one point to the other in...

I've played Skylines. The level of detail just isn't there compared to SimCity 4, but it is a lot better than SimCity (2013). That image makes me cringe from a highway design standpoint. Sharp turns, steep climbs, sharp ramp angles, no merge room, weaving... ok I'll stop now lol

I have made an interchange in SimCity 4 inspired by the 400 / 401 junction in Toronto. Click here for a full size image: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/779/23269149944_398dc3de30_o.jpg Location: https://www.google.ca/maps/@43.7169943,-79.5163695,16.63z Smaller image below:

I attended a SHIFT meeting on December 2. Overview: ...Nothing really new from the presentation, I think everything from it can be found on the online PDFs. Staff did explain some sections in more detail, however. For the Q&A, most of the questions came from people that either had a...

Conceptual LRT on Richmond. One lane. Seeing this makes me cringe, but change is usually good. This will take the buses off the road which usually block the right lane. Also left turns will be eliminated which usually blocks the left lane. As long as taxis / delivery trucks don't randomly...

    London Rapid Transit (In-Design)

How about A small portion of the proposed LRT is a subway on Richmond Street to go under the CN rail line and possibly run all the way to Oxford Street. Surely not a fair comparison to London U.K's RT system, but interesting nonetheless o_O

At the end of the 99 year lease (which began in 1998, so 2097), it will return to the province or leased to another operator. Signs might change then.

Roads: Highway 407 East (Durham Region)

Never really noticed this but I can see benefits: -A shoulder on a shoulder means emergency vehicles can better bypass traffic if vehicles are stopped/broken down on the shoulder -Snow can be piled here, leaving the shoulder clear -Can be converted to additional lanes more easily (if ever needed...
