    Toronto Lower Simcoe Ramp | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto

Why not LEDs? Or to make things more fun you could have the LEDs change colour like on the CN Tower. Would be a nice inviting theme for tourists entering downtown from roadtrips. -Heck, install changing LEDs below the whole elevated Gardiner to spruce up the place.

    Toronto Lower Simcoe Ramp | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto

I agree, but that just might be the design standard they are using. A shoulder is a good place to put in broken down vehicles, cop cars / pulled over vehicles, snow storage, etc. It could also be converted to a through lane later on possibly. Also if there is a collision / breakdown on one of...

    Toronto Lower Simcoe Ramp | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto

It's a shoulder. It ends before the intersection so you don't have some crazy driver using it as a through lane to cut you off. Great pics! Always appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to take them and post them here!

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

I don't think Gardiner East really relates to the article much. This part of the highway was built mostly on reclaimed and industrial land. There isn't much of an urban fabric to restore here compared to a Robert Moses project that built a highway right through a neighbourhood. Yes waterfont...

This offramp is wider than the mainline Gardiner eastbound! Wow! It's almost as if staying on the Gardiner should be the new exit lol As always thanks for the pics! Very much appreciated :)

You could make the 401 express lanes tolled, similar to the Lyndon B Johnson Expressway / I-635 in Dallas. They call it Texpress :p http://www.texpresslanes.com/ Source: http://www.asphaltplanet.ca/TX/I/635/index.html ------ At the very least the leftmost express lane of the 401 could be...

Looks like a real ramp now, you could technically use it

A pipe dream would have the 402 curve south-southwest of the 401 and head towards St. Thomas. As described by @ShonTron, this isn't necessary. London's urban growth boundary doesn't go much further south than 402 / 401 so a second parallel freeway is not needed, especially considering the...

Nothing on Highbury right now, but the Veterans Memorial Parkway (VMP) exit to the east is being expanded: http://hwy401vmp.ca/ It's only partially open now. Once complete it will change from a free-flowing trumpet to a double-stoplight parclo, actually kind of a downgrade. ----- The...

Here's some proof. MTO volume counts, as of 2016 http://www.raqsa.mto.gov.on.ca/techpubs/TrafficVolumes.nsf/fa027808647879788525708a004b5df8/f51986ea499a13b08525745f006dd30b/$FILE/Provincial Highways Traffic Volumes 2016 AADT Only.pdf 401's highest count is 416,500 between Highway 400 and...

So Highway 427 may have become the second highway in the world to hit average daily volumes of 400,000 vehicles per day (the other being the 401) http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=489565&page=217

Roads: Ambassador & Gordie Howe Bridges

As long as this doesn't stop the Gordie Howe Bridge, I'm for it. Provides redundancy. Maybe with this approval they won't fight against the new span so much. The $1.5 Billion 401 extension is essentially a road to nowhere until it is built.

High Speed Rail: London - Kitchener-Waterloo - Pearson Airport - Toronto

Ontario NDP seems to be for the project now: http://www.lfpress.com/2017/08/04/andrea-horwath-ndp-leader-sought-to-clarify-partys-stance-on-high-speed-rail-friday They really haven't had a clear stance. Could prove crucial if the next government is a minority.

    London Rapid Transit (In-Design)

No more than 8 BRT busses per hour? Umm. If it's supposed to run every 5 mins at peak times that's 12 per hour. No LRT ever? That's progressive.

This is my drive-through of the 401-404/DVP-inspired interchange I made in SC4 in response to a challenge in this thread.

Adding the Sheppard collector / HOV tunnel / etc would have upped the scale of the project immensely. Since that isn't the focus, I chose not to include it. What I made is just inspired by the junction. Huh, I never really considered this a map, but I can see it now.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Hey to each their own. I've played Cities: Skylines, and I still prefer SimCity 4 over it. Both games are great, and both games have their strengths and weaknesses. Anyways I've finished the 'raw' form of the 401-404-DVP interchange in SC4. Still needs a bit of additional tinkering, lights...
