    Intercity Bus Services

Oh my gosh yes!!!! However the NCC owns the station and given their incompetence running things (Anyone who has lived in Ottawa will tell you this; read this for more details NCC Watch) I doubt they would properly recruit for a decent restaurant or cafe. The parking area to the west of the...

    Intercity Bus Services

With the LRT up and running the train station is a great location for the bus terminal. Hopefully Ontario Northland and others will make the move.

    Intercity Bus Services

After taking Bla Bla Bus (formerly Ouibus) in Europe last winter and using its super easy booking site, Greyhound deserves to die. For a few reasons: You have to print a ticket and hand it to the driver. For bla bla bus i had a QR code and they double checked me name on a electronic manifest...

Since 2016, South Korea’s KTX high speed trains have been dealing with a zombie outbreak. Very bad for business.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Interesting observation I’ve made scanning the new timetable. There is NO service to York University GO Station. There wasn’t any during the pandemic and none at all now. seems to me like Metrolinx is going to quietly let the station die. Perhaps demolish the concrete overnight without any...

Please don't judge, termites need to work too in this economy.

Wow! That was fast. Wasn’t it a month ago that the first tunnel was 50% complete?

TTC CLRV Streetcars: Where will they go once they are retired?

I know it would be expensive but would it be feasible to complete an oval track and convert the streetcar to run on solar battery power just like the Byron Bay Train?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

A few more developments since my last post at the former Dublin Street crossing. Jersey barriers have gone up and metal poles are being installed into the asphalt and concrete base for a permanent solution. It’s interesting to see the orange spray painted lines leading to the crossing arms. Yes...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

End of an era. Once there were 6 and there are 5. Dublin Street cross in Guelph has finally closed leaving 5 at grade crossings within the city (Watson Road, Glasgow, Yorkshire, Edinburgh, and Alma. i noticed a GO special constable parked at the former crossing. Probably to ward off anyone...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I completely agree. It’s great to see the incremental and less sexy construction work happening on the Kitchener in Guelph were I live. They’re upgrading crossings and improving railway quality all without the Minister coming over for a photo op every month.

They are properly an older generation and don’t understand the value of pedestrian traffic. Same way Kodak didn’t see the value in digital photography and online sharing.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I go past everyday on my commute and rarely see crews there. Must be a low priority right now. Will be interesting when Dublin crossing closes. I figure the city will put up Jersey barriers and Metrolinx will put up a fence. There’s petition to stop the closure but few have signed. Until...

Thanks for doing this! Like others said, I’m surprised you got such a detailed answer. I have a feeling that Metrolinx had to pull the expropriation card when Crossways wouldn’t play nice.

Construction of the 2nd track at Guelph Central is coming along VERY slowly. Pictures are taken in sequence travelling west from the station.

Dusting off an old thread here. Is there any movement with this project? Last I heard was that construction is supposed to start in late 2020 and we’re now halfway through the year.

Anyhoo back on track here (pun intended) While not directly related to GO, Kent St in Geulph with switch to one way travel in July ahead of the Dublin Street closure.

Since they put those gates up at Queens Quay idiots have to get more creative when driving near tracks.
