Pretty much sums it up. Go look at the retail planned for the Hudson Yards project Oxford is doing in NYC so see what the MTCC would end up being like (and the parks as well). I think that's more of a blow to CF than the expanded convention centre space at the CNE would be to Oxford.

I've noticed that as well. The Bravia Building is Main & Main too. Main & main is First Capital Realty, so there is a grander plan in place I'm sure. Those buildings along with the Blockbuster and No Frills would be a pretty huge site.

There are plenty of interesting sites they could go to on that strip. Pretty much across the street under the Bravia Dance studio (beside the old blockbuster) would suit them well.

Oxford has significant experience looking at and planning podiums over rail lines as they have just broken ground with Related Co. on the Hudson Yard project in NYC. The cost of covering the rails there will be approx. $3 billion... That's probably why they don't consider purchasing the air...
