Toronto Ontario Court of Justice Toronto | 95.7m | 17s | Infrastructure ON | Renzo Piano

Agreed that it won't be accused of overshadowing city hall. It also blends in well with the existing superior court building. Based on the renderings, I'd say it has the potential to be a well-designed institutional building in a somewhat tucked-away location. From a skyline/sightline...

    Toronto The HUB | 258.46m | 59s | Oxford Properties | Rogers Stirk Harbour

With Oxford already operating their own co-working spaces on front street, I wonder if this changes the dynamics of office development? Is there less risk to building on spec if they believe some of the space could easily be filled with co-working space (especially on such a prime site)? If the...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I actually think there's more demand for better northbound weeknight and two-way weekend service on the Stouffville Line than mid-day service. The evening trains that end at Unionville are brutal as all the passengers heading further north are squeezed into standing-room-only buses. As it...

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

Too bad about the hydro corridor -- it doesn't exactly scream Canary Wharf.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

The four Pinnacle Centre towers were built fairly quickly (7-8 years total?), so I could see them being aggressive especially in this market, but yeah, five years is very short.

I really dig the "Constructicon" paint jobs on their machines.

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

I really worry about the affect this will have on income inequality. Folks whose parents don't own in the GTA (or Vancouver) often don't have the means to help their kids with a down payment or a massive inheritance. Obviously inequality isn't a new issue, but it feels like lately it has less to...

    Toronto 415 Yonge | 231m | 66s | Marwest | Kirkor Architects

I like the tower, but it's kind of awkwardly face sitting on the original building. If the original building had been a notable structure, I would applaud this, but this just looks very strange without recladding.

    Union Station: Northwest PATH Expansion

Agreed -- the city should build all four eventually.

    Toronto 191 Bay | 301.74m | 64s | QuadReal | Hariri Pontarini

Wow! If this gets built, the density of the core will be unreal! The way things are going, I could also see the third Brookfield Place tower (the old BA3) making a comeback as well.

    Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

I was excited for the return of the sign, but this is awful. What a pointless waste of effort if this is the end result. One day the city will sell off this office building, the sign will disappear, and not a single person will care.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

It's nice to see PRESTO bring in some common sense to transit fares in the GTA (2-hour transfers, GO-TTC discount, etc.). I'd still like to see the TTC take a "progressive discount" approach to monthly passes similar to how GO fares work (rides becoming free towards the end of the month once...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

This has historically been a problem on some lines, like Stouffville though. Trips are much longer than they were 10-20 years ago because of all the new stops that have been added over the years. Even with faster electric trains, I wonder if we're only going to get back to the speed of 10 years...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Good news on the planned June 2018 weekend service for Stouffville. I'm really hoping this is service for the entire line and that mid-day and evening service is extended to at least Mount Joy as part of these changes.

Toronto Scotiabank North Tower at Bay Adelaide Centre | 140.2m | 32s | Brookfield | KPMB

Isn't Brookfield Place Canada Trust Tower our 1000DLG? I don't like it as much, but it's a prominent pomo tower with a spire.

    Toronto 160 Front West | 239.87m | 46s | Cadillac Fairview | AS + GG

Maybe Canadian Tire is moving out of Yonge and Eglinton? Isn't Canada Square going to be redeveloped? I admit it would be a bit weird for such an old-school company to be in such a modern building, but you never know.
