I was thinking the same. A wee bit of clever thinking to lessen the largess of this behemoth.

Your comments are interesting considering this IS a 'working class' neighbourhood which is a phrase meaning anyone that has to work IS working class unless extremely wealthy. Yorkville is 'wealthy' however there are many tall towers placing shade on neighbouring 'wealthy' properties. Most people...

I agree and please bring it on! Eastern Ave. is for the most part a forlorn stretch that has so much room for improvement and densification.

If I lived in one of those houses I would not think the city policy was 'dumb' as you put it It is a good and considerate policy that creates a buffer between single family or otherwise less tall homes that border on a much taller structure. In fact TO is not a north south city but is angular...

I like the setback for reasons already mentioned plus that section of sidewalk is quite narrow now. The wider setback will allow people to mill about waiting for a cab or pick up or whatever. Hopefully some seating will be placed in this area along some greenery I hope.

Thank you Albert C for this! As I have mentioned before I recently moved into this area (2 1/2 years) and was hoping for the area to improve. It is improving at a much faster pace than I expected. I was thinking that some retail space would have been on the Leslie St.side. If I’m reading this...

Understated to not offend I suppose however I agree with others that this corner should be left as is.

Quite wild and unique by Toronto standards. I do hope this is realized. We need some cheery design in these dark days.

I usually sit on the fence also until a project is further along. On this one I agree it is looking pretty awful and cheap even compared to other awful and cheap looking projects. I assume this will be mainly for students at Ryerson or whatever Ryerson will soon be renamed ;-)

This stretch of Queen has been wanting for for decades. Basically next to nothing has happened and then boom 4 stories to 60 all over the area. Quite remarkable really and perhaps not to everyone’s liking. An influx of people of ALL ages is good thing.

Very exiting for me! I live on a little street very close by. The retail portion at 245 sq M seems small however.
