    VIA Rail

Fwiw some councilors for the city of Pickering are pushing for a stop near Green river this upcoming council meeting. Given recent studies indicating no need for airport until beyond 2036 and the move to support reduction in greenhouse gas emissions....

Objection your honour! I only check UT about 6 times a day!

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

There are secure bike stalls being added to go stations. Pickering for example has one already.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I missed the graphs thanks for posting. I caught a few missed opportunities to improve bike connections at Pickering to the north side of the 401 (via future planned bike infra on pickering Pkwy and Liverpool Rd). It would be a shame to have bike infrastructure only to be cutoff by the 401. One...

401- The Busiest Highway in North America

Has anyone driven the 401 east in Scarborough through the GTA? Today with all the rain, the new 'white', bright centre lighting seems to blind the lane markers. I've got 20/20 vision, but many of us drivers wer having trouble keeping a lane this evening. Does anyone know if they ever plan to...

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

Discussion probably best suited in the Go midtown corridor. It can hit a lot of high order transit stops.

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

Spoke with GO and they confirmed the schedules are wrong and will address as you suspected.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

And that's my point above re: odd choice. Of course many decisions are personal, but much has to do with our (in some cases, false) perception of the danger(s), as you point out above. Car jackings are also up (some argued it was dangerous to drive post Marner incident), but again, down in the...

    2023 Toronto Mayoral by-election

40 percent above the limit shouldn't be a ticket? I'd like to see the traffic engineers or those who suggested the speeds comment. The following is bot meant to be snarky but genuine curiosity... I always see comment about traffic (speeding) infractions as 'money grabs' but don't see any...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Odd choice. Is driving more safe than riding the TTC? Or is it just perceived as such? I think we need to be cautious with our assumptions given the way we interpret incidents fed by local media.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Two wrongs don't make a right. We're not in kindergarten anymore. Please stop for the sake of other drivers. As someone who has lived there for a number of years, you get the same thing or worse. I've seen it all, in both countries. I don't think highways are built for this (especially given...

    Pickering 1786 & 1790 Liverpool Road | 156.75m | 49s | Chestnut Hill | Kirkor Architects

I had time to sit in on the planning and development this evening. Some points mentioned: TD's lease has almost 25 years to go (2047; this affects the northern portion of this property) - plans to keep as is... Unless the branch closes I guess 6 spaces considered for retail parking assuming the...

    Pickering 1515 Pickering Parkway | 131.22m | 40s | Sevoy Developments | Arcadis

Thanks didn't see it on the map! Also of note on the above application... There is planned, long term (beyond 2031), to have an overpass connecting Bayly St and the new downtown just east of this site (Hydro Corridor). I found it interesting they didn't seem to include this in their reports...

    Pickering 1515 Pickering Parkway | 131.22m | 40s | Sevoy Developments | Arcadis

I know off topic, but I didn't see the major build at city centre/downtown (area at and around Sears wing of Pickering Town Centre that was demolished) . Is there a thread for that?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I think for more convinient connections. In the Scarborough golf club example in my previous post, allows students direct access to school versus crosses of the street further down. Hafeez's comment on the tweet suggests also that this may be just illustration example.

    East Don Trail Project

I think this is the same path I biked down from the north along the dump site in the late summer; could only go as far as the railway tracks where they put up a fence. I assume most are aware of this given the relatively easy access

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I wonder if they'll ever change the adult fare from $4 for durham region. It's 75 cents more per ride versus presto tap. 'Easier' for us by charging 75 cents more?

    Toronto Ontario Line: Science Centre Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | HDR

Assuming the science Centre is still there when OL opens...there were rumours of it being relocated some time ago.
