GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I'm starting to see a pattern as I age. And as a former project manager, I can see that we, humans, are terrible at creating future plans with any accuracy at all. The further you look out, the less accurate the prediction is. Stating a precise date that far out is absurd. It is one thing to...

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

Don't forget this is only the beginning. The original plan as reported by the Sun was to have contacts signed that included all Durham region Go stations, bathrooms, parking lots, quiet areas, etc. As the article states, they will also share ridership data with the 'sponsor'. But isn't, or...

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

Im curious to see if these get used in Pickering. There isn't any plan to add (cycling) infrastructure to get to the Go station anytime soon... In Pickering, Durham Region, who controls the major routes around the station, has opted for bike lanes along Bayly, but won't to implement until...

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

Has anyone had issues getting issues resolved though Metrolinx's contact centre surrounding open payment? Since using their open pay, they double charged my account and they aren't really much help (I'm on the 4th interaction). I'm going to go through the credit card provider for charge back...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

How does one get a 'conversation' going for us poor saps who ride along Sheppard east (signed route 86?) from Port union though Morningside (or at least Conlins)? One of the more... Adventurous rides.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Taking bets... What happens first? Srt closure or crosstown opening?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Didn't think we had an equipment shortage. I have to laugh when they announce it is out of service and to move to another car if you need to use... Which to me is not an easy thing to remember in case of emergency.

    Roads: Traffic Signals

Usually I've seen those (larger gray box) on the side of the road pointing downward the vehicles perpendicular of the direction of travel near the stop line..

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

This is the 3rd time in so many weeks I'm riding on Lakeshore east and the passenger alarm is not in service in certain cars as per announcements. Shouldn't this be a basic requirement for the car to be in service?

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

So, I managed to render my presto card useless today... And noticed that debit and credit card tap was removed from DRT vehicles. They were part of the pilot earlier in the year... Anyone know why?

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Saw the sprinklers watering the on track grass west of Kennedy? to vicpark. There is a section grass has completely gone brown and wonder if the sprinklers weren't installed yet. The gap where there is grass/not looks strange, it's very segmented and the overall finish of the stations looks...

Roads: Highway 407 East (Durham Region)

Let's leave emotions out of numbering a highway system. There are general rules why particular numbers are selected.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Friends in the construction industry tell me this sort of thing is all too common, not limited to the TTC.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

There is still salt on the sidewalks at Pickering Go under the section covered by the parking garage. It stays year round and corrodes the bollards and such in the vicinity.

Roads: Highway 407 East (Durham Region)

To say one cant have a non toll 407 because people are used to it is ridiculous. Everywhere in the world, there are highways that have toll sections, and places that don't.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I can't find past docs, but is this a case of the left hand not talking to the right? Or was there suggestion to widen the bridge? I'm just curious as I had similar issue in Durham with cycling lanes crossing the 401 at Liverpool.

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

I'm happy Pickering is going all in with this project and also will have median lanes throughout, I just shake my head at the ellesmere rd option that is just sitting there...lots of resistance it seems; not sure what metrolinx and the city are going to do. It is sad that transit signal...
