    Pickering 591 Liverpool Road | 41.4m | 12s | PHC | Teeple Architects

This is a very interesting one, and I hope the city works with feds/province to secure purchase of the Bay (which is also for sale with this property now) to put it under public ownership... The city has had to negotiate with the owner for years (most recently weeding to get rid of millfoil for...

    The Meadoway, 200ha

Having little knowledge on the subject, how does this impact the delivery (timeline)? I assume it needs to be presented to some body (Oct 20?) for approval and then scheduling?

Any progress on this? Another example today there were plenty of updates in the eglinton lrt forum and I was about to post something to discover it had already been posted yesterday...

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Another interesting tweet today from Colin: Because the premier mixed personal/official use, they are claiming they'd have to sift through all logs, call all contacts of interactions, or somehow else determine what was private and what was public... And that would be too time consuming, so...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

They just let me on; had no idea why wasn't working... By the afternoon was fine.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I had problems this week on some busses that posted a message that only presto cards were accepted.

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

Not surprising, DRT is last among comparator transit agencies in revenue hours of service per capita as mentioned in the upcoming agenda to build a new brand for DRT (expected launch sometime between '25-27; section 2.5, item b). So, although back/exceeding pre-pandemic levels, there is still...

On a 900k salary... I'm pretty confident there is appetite by the public for heads to roll.

No this was just really big greasy pizza and pop kind of place, sometime in the mid 2000s.

Wasn't there a pizza shop below that had a large slice and drink for ~$3 too? That seemed ridiculously cheap even when I used to work around there...

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

There were large protests against the school curriculum (million March for kids) today all around town which is why you may have seen more than usual. Because I'm really trying to wrap my head around this one (who doesn't enjoy getting dragged into the latest moral panic?...apologies if this...

This news certainly makes me look at the mechanical problems of the PMs plane in new light.

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

Circling back on this, it does not include municipal taxes. So this 9.75 percent is actually closer to 5 percent (of total tax bill) as the region represents about half the bill.

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

Ah thanks missed that. Interesting that is it in line with previous year increases and slightly below the typical share (for lower tier municipalities like Pickering/Ajax/Whitby); which is typically between 30-34% of the total bill including schoolboard taxes - as much as I'm happy to see monies...

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

Also of note: Reserves are being tapped to mitigate these increases The region is already home to, in some cases (Whitby for example), some of the highest property taxes in the GTHA (I can vouch for paying double what my relatives pay for similar property in Toronto) This is only the regional...

    2023 Toronto Mayoral by-election

I now know what $123k worth of signs looks like... In comparison, Chow spent $98k and Bailao $64k.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Was a date announced? I certainly didn’t hear one… Verster mentioned that a high-risk issue to the schedule is the testing and commissioning. My guess is that they probably know the (likely conservative) date by now, but are preparing their communications strategy.
