    Toronto Bike Share

Decided to bike around humber bay. Saw "1 dock left" which means 0 on 2 of the stations. It was so bad there were multiple bikes left on the street. Wonder how much those users will end up being charged. There were additional bikes out of frame but didn't want to take flash photos of strangers...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

At the risk of derailing the thread, I don’t really see it. All the people I know in Doug Ford age bracket said it hasn’t changed in 30 years so might as well tear it down. (totally forgetting continual investment is important??) Billions of dollars of land were bought up before the green belt...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Even with the current speeds, if they could up frequency I'd take the slower line every time! It's 1000x a better experience than switching trains and likely taking a bus and probably standing nearly the whole trip

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Yeah I was in one of the "worst" Neighbourhoods in Japan Nishinari, barred windows everywhere etc. The worst behaviour I saw was a ticketed and ilegally parked car. Japan is insane, no talking on the trains, all the airbnb's I stayed at were silent even though the walls were so thin I could hear...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Any way to project how long it'll take to get between x and y stops? I think they posted a full line speed prediction but that's not helpful for partial trips

For safety's sake I'd always just use the proper exit. As a driver or pedestrian #1 is to be predictable, so avoid places they don't expect people.

Honestly, I’ve seen a deterioration in how people act in public (can you find a single bus, train car, or McDonald’s somebody isn’t playing Instagram out loud?) I think if we lower the attitude things like townhomes condos would be seen in a lot better light!

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

The quality of discussion is a lot higher here! My biggest gripe is a lot of people hand wave away problems. I took the GO during active TO and missed a train by 2 mins (my bad I'll wait for the next in an hour) well the train an hour later was cancelled due to a trespasser, no replacement sent...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

It sucks but it's not closed 24/7

When was the last time you saw a subway line closed for years on end? Pretty much every week there is a streetcar line closed for several KM or a bus route with service cut. For whatever reason subways are more immune to that

As a former public servant, accountability is basically 0 so a lot of that wouldn't be possible. You can't even really blame 1 person since that's not now decisions are made sadly. Hence nobody cares about things outside their silo

Reddit is bombarded with idiots screaming whY DiDn'T YOU tAKe tHE Go (ignoring the fact not everyone is going to union and the entire city of Toronto west of Scarborough has something like 30 unreserved spots on the lakeshore line. I've called people out and they just say walk lmfao as if a...

I hate the guy and he’s a coward for resigning from Boston when a fatal accident happened, but like I said, I feel that all the serious issues are structural. Yeah, it would be nice to have somebody who understands what the passengers are dealing with but things like seemingly no protocols over...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

We all loved Andy, but I don’t think riding it every day would help with the main issues that are in the TTC. Yes, I’ve read the thread and many complaints are legitimate so why make up reasons to add to the pitchforks? The problem to me seems to be lack of direction, and basically no...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Somewhat unrelated but I remember several years ago the city doubled the number of red light cameras (I'm assuming they do have some fact based basis on where they put them) The reaction of Blogto and other outlets was RED LIGHT OFFENCES DOUBLED! as if behavior had changed at all. I've never...

If you see the inspection report even absolutely basic and effectively free maintenance like spraying the top of the reactor rail guard to see if it had made contact and inspections by supervisors were stopped or greatly reduced

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

It's even worse considering that trucking has been a race to the bottom for the past few years, and the standards are only going to go down. Dump trucks hitting *cking bridges wasn't a weekly thing a few years ago!

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

My loved ones running into trouble since they travel either before the AM rush or in the evenings. You need to look at trends for stuff like this, things are a lot worse than 10 years ago and it’s only accelerating. I’d love to see hope things with change but the powers that be only want to...
