    New Toronto Chief Planner

Maybe he will follow through with HBS and provide some good planning for the area going forward? We all know how Keesmat felt about the Park Lawn and Lake Shore area (hint; she went out of her way to stifle the area)

Apparently a "Fran's" restaurant is opening in the retail portion, and that most of the other retail has been leased/secured. Not sure what else is going in.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

I am hopeful that my riding (Etobicoke - Lakeshore) will get a ton of infrastructure (transit?) promises from the Liberals so as to prevent a PC sweep of Etobicoke, and not give Doug that satisfaction.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

Perks...moderate? I'm left wing, and even I think he's quite extreme. Sarah Doucette on the other hand is moderate, and a voice of sanity.

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

The entire City of Toronto Planning department is trying to legitimize the amount of money and resources the planning dept are putting into the East Bayfront before most of the development occurs there. That is their priority, and that is why they say these things. Look, even though close to...

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

Grimes definitely isn't a lock, especially given the huge changes in demographics in the ward. With a credible alternative, I can see him losing.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

If we have to pretend like we are happy with Park Lawn getting "split" service in order to get a station, then so be it. Although a train stopping at Park Lawn only once every hour at off peak times isn't ideal, once the ridership numbers confirm it will in fact be quite busy, I'm sure it will...

    Toronto Eau du Soleil Condos | 227.98m | 66s | Empire | Richmond Architects

The part of the building fronting onto Lake Shore seems so odd. Other than that, I like it. It's like they were told, this building needs to be at grade/street level, so they added a random box to an already rendered /drawn up building.

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

More than 30 thousand people move into Humber Bay Shores and she doesn't see it as a priority for rapid transit. East Bayfront "plans" to add 15k people in the next 20 years, and she goes into high gear planning transit, parks & rect, community centres, etc.

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

I think we are beyond that, all three parties are supportive of same-sex marriage, benefits, etc. If it's because of positions parties have had historically, well let's not forget it's the ONDP who were the first to support same-sex marriage, unions, adoptive rights, anti-discriminatory...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I really do think it is crazy they have decided to cancel any further investigation into this. This part of the GTA is rapidly growing. The number of friends/colleagues of mine that have moved out to Orangeville/Caledon/Guelph in the last year or two (because of how unaffordable...

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

His challenger last time, Kinga Surma, is running for the PCs in Etobicoke Centre, so if she looses she could run again municipally, although not in the same boundaries as Ward 5, and she didn't really come that close last time.

    Marino's Dealerships (630 Kipling, 4s, Eightspace)

I've been looking for information on this development here (and generally online) and haven't been able to find anything. Does anybody have any information on this development which is at the North/West Corner of the Gardiner Expressway and Kipling Ave. My understanding was that the City of...

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

I think media has framed it that way. It's also one of the flaws I see with the Me too (or Time's up) movement/position (if there even is one singular one), wanting men to suffer in jail and "pay" for what they did. It's a very right wing way of thinking about crime and punishment. The...

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

Mulroney as the leader is good news for Andrea Horwath. Mulrony comes off as elitist. The labour/blue collar that was supportive of Brown will likely shift over to Horwath (particularly in the South west and the North).

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

Definitely a case where frequency makes riding the 80 less attractive, so the ridership numbers aren't much of a surprise. Why wait 30 minutes when you can take many of the North/South busses (Kipling, Islington) at a frequency of 10 minutes or less, and get to Line 2 in under 10 minutes. I...

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

The only problem with the map is that the current busiest stop for the 66B Northbound is at the north/east side of Lake Shore at Park Lawn, heading north to Old Mill. You would make their trip much longer

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

Why are people here feeling sorry for Tim Hortons' franchisees? These people make millions of dollars, are part of the 1%. Even if they didn't sign up for having to pay their employees an extra couple bucks an hour, they can afford it - and if they can't, there is a long line of people willing...

Going to be very noisy that close to the subway and train tracks with a wood frame.

    Regions of Ontario

Are there any legal differences between a Town and a City in Ontario? I believe in Quebec there is no distinction in the wording (they are all <<Villes>>). Oakville and Ajax should both be upgraded to City, but the notion of being a "town" is good marketing as being quaint little villages...
