Is there any news on timing for this wing now that work on the patient care tower is almost done?

    Amazon Alternatives?

Shopify provides a platform for others to sell, it doesn‘t sell goods itself. It competes with Amazon Marketplace which allows third party sellers to set up shop on Amazon.

    The coming demise of Roots?

I feel like I’m personally keeping Roots in business. I wear suits to work and had nothing comfortable for working from home. I first bought three pairs of sweatpants and now three pairs of sweat shorts. Online of course. Pricey but quality was excellent, no signs of the quality slipping.

    Toronto 191 Bay | 301.74m | 64s | QuadReal | Hariri Pontarini

Half of UrbanToronto is speculating on things we don’t know. The thread is currently featured on the UrbanToronto home page. If you don’t want people commenting old threads, UT should learn not to feature them.

I wonder if office projects like this that haven’t started yet will be cancelled given the looming recession. It will be a long time before everybody is working from the office again and there will be many more employees demanding to work from home even after a vaccine is available.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Doesn’t the TTC apply the coating where the red adhesive is on the stanchions? The streetcar I was on had no red adhesive on any stanchions.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I was on a streetcar this week and it had no anti-microbial coating on the stanchions. I meant to memorize the number but forgot. Have others seen this?

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

We've all stood behind somebody at a TTC presto reader who can't figure out that they need to tap below and not on the LCD screen. They figure it out eventually at a turnstile because the gates won't open but if you spend time on streetcars you'll see people tap the LCD screen and move into the...

    Church-Wellesley Village

So we're getting two cannabis stores within a block? The Friendly Stranger at 501 Church and Fire and Flower at 481 Church? I thought licenses were few and far between. Also the vape shop in the Alexus at 500 Church didn't even last a year.

    TTC: New Fare Gate Installation

Often when I exit at College northbound during the evening rush hour there is a challenge exiting the station due to the new gates. There are no gates directly opposite the subway, presumably that spot is walled off for easy large equipment moves. But there are usually people entering the subway...

    Montréal Transit Developments

Very cool. Is the metro station able to remain open throughout construction of the REM station?

    TTC Cartography, Signage, and Wayfinding

I'm a big fan of the strip maps. I'd far prefer them on line 1 paired with a system map nearby. I just returned from Madrid and was reminded how simple their strip maps are on some lines - just applied as stickers. They have a very large and complex metro system but their car and station signage...

    Toronto 191 Bay | 301.74m | 64s | QuadReal | Hariri Pontarini

This is a good point - I think that the subway / path connection would certainly have to be closed during construction. How is everybody going to enter and exit King Station during rush hour?

    Church-Wellesley Village

That’s disappointing. There isn’t much left on the strip besides burgers and beer now.

    Church-Wellesley Village

The building on the SE corner of Church and Wellesley is getting a facelift. Even the RBC is getting a new facade. The rendering shows the angled glass windows above the vacant storefront (Priape) coming down for a more contemporary look. Perhaps the rental firm decided that they needed to...

    Church-Wellesley Village

From outside it looks like they installed big new TV screens.

    Church-Wellesley Village

I meant to post a couple of weeks ago that the Pavillion Coffee / Crepe It up on the east side of Church north of Wellesley has closed. There are far too many vacant storefronts on Church now.
