Demolition has begun on the Bay concourse. I will try and get pictures soon! (To the security guard that tried to stop me taking pictures through the hoarding this morning. I stand by my comment. "You are a small minded idiot that is bad for PR.")

Might I add to this: It would be nice to see more of the "big yellow themed" signs. They need to continue all the way into the GO/VIA/GOBus concourses. Right now this is a great start, but passengers have to "follow the breadcrumbs" and pick up different types of construction signage (various...

Additionally, it is worth noting that as of September 10th all remaining fittings appear to have been removed from the Bay Concourse. All of the remaining Presto terminals and GO screens are confirmed to have been removed. Demolition is around the corner as the City is now very close to handing...

If it is big, clear, obvious signage you wanted? It is big, clear, obvious signage I present you. :) As of September 8th the hoarding is being installed inside the Bay concourse, and so are these GIANT posters directing passengers towards the new concourse. The hoarding seems to have shrunk...

I really like the detail of the new sign brackets/mounts. The square relief around the perimeter and in the corner really plays into the architectural details of the station. For this reason I would shy away from options B, C & D as I believe they undermine this small but important design...

It wouldn't happen to be this post (http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/union-station-station-building-revitalization-city-of-to-u-c-norr.4308/page-116#post-994920) would it?

To the powers that be: The new signage in Union is lacking in terms of standards. The new overhead signs need to be uniform in design. What is the logic behind having the visual aides (GO logo & train pictogram) to the left of the text on one sign, and to the right of the text in the other?

Is there anything you would like to see specifically? I can try to grab specific points of interest next time. My apologies for the terrible quality. I need a better camera! This is all I have to date:

I have no idea! It makes me frustrated that the PR regarding this project is a total nightmare. It seems to me the city is doing its best to keep this a secret. Honestly a shame! The taxpayers funding this and the commuters enduring the years of construction want to see this. They should see...

I totally agree with you there. The fact the kiosks are only appearing now (were not even planned for) is indeed laughable.

On the other hand: I definitely agree with everyone that it is very inconvenient to the actual users of the station. I just want to remind everyone that it is temporary.

I agree that services are lacking right now, but from a construction perspective, the building has been ready for work to proceed for some time now. Personally I would not agree with further delays to the already delayed timetable so that creature comforts could be maintained. It is already...

This is 100% conjecture: I believe that the York Concourse lower retail is due to open within several months, the loading docks under the York Concourse are already operational and turned over to the City, the area just north of Bay South is structurally complete, the connecting passage at Bay...

I will try my best however I do not have any official access. Can't make any promises. :( If anybody official could ever get me inside Union on a media tour, city progress tour, or something like that please PM me. I would be forever grateful! (Architecture student with a keen eye for detail here.)

August 25, 2015. A look over the paper on the doors in the Bay West Teamway. Here you can see the progress of the underpinning on the Bay Concourse. - On the left you can see that the dig-down is done (Bay South/Blue Route), the columns are underpinned and complete, and structural slab is...

According City of Toronto staff that I spoke to today in Bay: The Bay concourse is slated to close and demolition begin during the first week of September. (By close they are referring to the remaining bit connecting to the TTC.) The remaining fittings are currently being removed. Hoardings...
