Urban I don't know what depresses me more.. The Berczy, or agreeing with your assessment of it. Thanks for ruining my weekend. This is not good. After all these years I'm starting to like this turkey. Where the hell is my martini shaker.......

X-ray I think you nailed it. Here are are two buildings that are truly polar opposites. For the longest time I have been struggling with what I like about these two buildings and yet there was always something that left me feeling solidly uncomfortable. Your simple statement hit the mark. I...

Hang in there UD. Keep them coming. It's not your fault these philistines don't recognize raw genius when they see it. Just remember they laughed at all the ones that broke new ground. Picasso, Miro, Van Gogh, Dali, etc. You are in with good company. I bow before you. ;)

Taken late today. You know.. With the dark overcast grey evening sky, late in the day, if you turn down your monitor brightness, stand back about ten feet, and stare into a bright light bulb for a moment first,...it actually don't look that bad.

Wow! Remember, Uncle Teddy, Androiduk, DSC, Jason, and a couple of you others..We were here on the ground floor (and below) when this one got going. A lot of eyebrows are going to go up along with surprised comments before the summer is over. My gut tells me it's going to be a beauty. Vue...

Well you effectively confused me. I didn't realize the HDR on my iPhone was just app mimicry. I actually thought it took three different exposures. Just shows ya how little this old fart knows. I bow to your obviously superior technical expertise.

Or buy an iPhone and turn on the HDR feature. An easy (and fun) way to experiment. However not to take away from Udo's pics. Some really good talent there. Always a delight to look at.

A prime spot to start putting in glass panels and give this upper portion a more solid coordinated appearance IMO.

I agree in principle. I say whack out some of those panels and stick in some 'fake window' tinted glass panels. I've see it done and it might just work here. This thing could still be saved and still retain its Leeds qualification.

Black tinted glass balconies look amazing against that red brick...against that grey/white spandrel...not so much.

Tinted balcony glass helping somewhat, but ouch, this one still hurts the eyes a bit. Really wanted to like this one. Can't recall ever being fooled by illustrations and the model as I have been by this one. Damnedest thing is, it actually does look like the pictures. Go figure.

By the way. All those lines hanging down from the L Tower? You should see it at quitting time when they all come rappelling down at once. Quite the spectacle!

I'm calling this one the Mushroom building. It seems the more it rains, the faster it pops up. Under a week per floor. I'm certain.
