Looking at some older photos, prior lighting solutions were also just mounted exposed to the ceiling itself. Still, they could have at least gone with reflected diffused lighting, concealing the light sources. Something more low-profile than this: They even use this lighting style...

Was there ever a plan to illuminate the streetcar stops along Queens Quay? The Harbourfront, Reese, and Spadina stops are incredibly dark at night. Not even the ad signage on these stops are illuminated to provide some cast off light.

Like I mentioned before (the great cinnabon derail...), this has to be a case of meddling from the top down. Their signage over at the UP station isn't a mess like this.

Queens Quay could do the same, only deploying them between streetcars after midnight when the service level is reduced. They could even only be deployed when the route shuts down for the night, between 2 and 5am. Doing so at the very least would cut down on late night trips down the ramp.

Well I guess this is a solution to the Portal issues. It looks like they're spaced out just enough to let streetcars pass. I can't help but feel like making a left turn onto that service road is going to be both a pain, and even more confusing for people new to the area.

Yeah it's pretty confusing how the truck ended up on the tracks there. The impact is on its left side, so it was heading east? Could it have run the red at Lake Shore crossing the tracks and been pushed that far down?
