GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Unfortunately the route through K-dub is probably the best bet. MX owns a lot of the corridor and the corridor that goes from Kdub to London is pretty quiet. The only other line is owned by CN and is their mainline. Perhaps they could offer multiple trains a day, an hourly "milk run" from...

    Ottawa Transit Developments

We need to see more of this. Should have been on Orangeville to GO Brampton, and the Richmond Hill Line for all day service, and the Vancouver Island train. Etc etc.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Until GO and/or VIA buy and upgrade the line from Kitchener to London from GO, service will never work here. The speed limit on that section of track is 60 kmh in many areas! The line needs a lot of work.

She will have to maintain another election because the renewal isn't up until 2030.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Yes but i'd add the other Metrolinx stations that aren't Smarttrack, like Spadina/Front, Caledonia and Mount Dennis, Woodbine, Park Lawn. We are getting a bunch of stations in Toronto that aren't even related to that project. 10 in total counting all of them if my math is correct. And also fare...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Luckily unlike a new project, work is already on going to support GO Expansion/RER. Double tracking, grade separations, station platform doubling, fare integration, new stations, etc. Its all happening right now and in support of this work. As much as I'd like to see electric EMU's gliding...

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

And the right thing to do, is to keep the Gardiner.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I believe a lot can fit 13 if the loco goes past the end of the platform. But it would require some more precision stopping.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I mean I would like a bike car on every go train that's not 12 car, but I know that's a lot to ask for. You could put a 13th bike car train on trains with the new MPI locomotives since they can pull 14 cars. I really think bikes on GO would benefit ridership, it solves the last mile problem of...

    Roads: Traffic Signals

The crazy part is there is little evidence that traffic lights lower accidents and fatalities. Our over reliance on them actually encourages people to be distracted drivers.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Hopefully something can be done when the track expansion is done. Id love to see this layout (Old Elm)--(Stouffville)--(Mount Joy)--(Markham)--(Centennial)--(Unionville)--------------------------------------------------(Kennedy)-----------------------------------------------------------(Union)...

Need this badboy on the Kitchener line stat! btw, I must say this is an incredibly inefficent use of space for bikes Should be this way

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

All this considered it is great that the problem GO is facing is being too popular. Hopefully they can ramp up service before too many people get pissed and give up

New GO Train Control+Signalling (PTC, CBTC, ETC) -- Safety & Subway-Like Frequency

Right, its real focus if I understand is increased safety, not allowing more trains to operate together

New GO Train Control+Signalling (PTC, CBTC, ETC) -- Safety & Subway-Like Frequency

Metrolinx should talk with VIA, CP and CN and coordinate on what plans for PTC etc they have, and get a written contractual agreement from all 3. However I am sure getting that would be the longest red tape in the world.

New GO Train Control+Signalling (PTC, CBTC, ETC) -- Safety & Subway-Like Frequency

So this is the first I'm hearing that GO is using ETCS instead of PTC on the network. It sounds better overall, but I am wondering one thing: if freight in Canada installs traditional PTC, is there any ability of interoperability on the networks? Like, for the section on the Kitchener Line...
