GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Yeah, would probably save us 5 minutes at the most for the CP transfer only to be blocked at CN Humber by higher priority 1xx and 3xx trains... I've waited 3 hours there before 😉

Which now I'm curious why they changed the Weston to be 80 passenger and 25 freight? Is it the amount of intermediate signals? The UP Platforms? Or the grades on the weston and west toronto tunnel?

Add to this CN Dundas 80 mph for passenger and 60 mph freight, similar with the CN Strathroy MX Guelph has 70/55 respectively... Back when CN owned the weston it was 80/60 till Metrolinx changed it to 80/25...

In theory it should work, but in my experience both like to screw each other over... I.e being held for 14 hours on the Lambton transfer job to wait for a train still at Mactier

Who does the maintenance, who does the RTC? CN RTC Edmonton or CPKC RTC Calgary? They can barely get the directional running zone between Parry Sound and St Cloud to work without screwing each other over.

I'm about 100% sure the CNR Halton sub runs more trains per day than the CP Galt sub and they are able to accommodate more traffic. In my personal opinion the biggest bottle neck on the Halton Sub is the Humber River Bridge at Mile 4.5. Most of the bridges and overpasses are wide enough for...

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I may be wrong since I don't operate on that territory but some of the curves around st Clair to Eglinton are a bit sharp with steep northward grades. Edit just checked, the pso for 45 mph is Mile 4.9 (davenport street) to mile 5.5 (around the pedestrian bridge), it has been there before the...

A full 6 car train still fits about 162 seated so it has capacity for 972 people sitting, even if 1 person sat in each quad seat that's about 240 people on board or approximately 3.5 busses

I'm pretty sure a MCC diversion would require large amounts of expropriation and other unheard of capital expenses. Personally I don't think it makes too much sense

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Timetable speed is 60 mph northbound up to roughly just north where the ramp starts to decend and goes down to 45 mph.

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The operating bulletin I was given had zone speeds of 60 and 45 North of the bridge. However there might be further gbos that I'm not aware of.

I've heard that perhaps hiring was put on hold... I have a buddy at CP with 3 years on conductor experience that, I kid you not... got declined immediately, apparently only 1 person from that info session was hired...
