I don't really understand why Toronto does't try to attract other large events like the X-games or Red Bull Air Race. The X games draws a huge audience and doesn't cost a fortune for venues either. Why not push for some track and field world championships. Who really cares about the Pan Am Games?

I think the only TD space might be some atm's along King Street. If you look in the windows, the whole space is open and it looks like they are building the vintages section towards the northeast corner.

Those green glass railings on the balconies look terrible. Would it have been so hard to find glass to match the windows? Cheap out if you ask me.

Sorry for the confusion. Most of my comments about retail spaces are in regard to other developments in the area. From what i've heard about lightbox, the podium should be fantastic.

Does anyone know if this project includes streetfront retail and if so, does it look to contain one single large space?

I think my problem is that I don't trust developers to build lively streetfront retail spaces that are something other than single story dry cleaners or banks. Until they prove otherwise, I'm still skeptical.

We already have a perfect example of this type of planning not working. Just walk up Bay Street between Dundas and Bloor. It's bordered by large condos on both sides with the exact same retail that many of these new condos propose. Yet I don't see anyone talking about how great Bay Street is...

Looks a little uninspiring. The curves are the only feature of the building that could turn out nice. I would have prefered to see some setbacks or details to give the building a little more drama. We can do better.

I do agree that there are other factors at play but I have yet to see an example of one anywhere in this city working. I just think that scale of these developments will create a cold, windy, unpleasant experience.

I'm amazed that 90% of people on this forum haven't learned anything from the brilliant job condos have done to Bay Street. Let's destroy the 2nd best mid rise area in the city. While added density is welcomed, it could have been much better to insert dozens of places like East or Mozo in this...

Maybe it's time to pressure the Canadian news organizations to pressure the goverment to step in to save those new jobs coming from WIND.
