I'll say one thing for Tridel - they work quickly. Over the past winter, despite cold days and miserable weather, they soldiered on with the parking garage with visible progress each day. They have an efficient team.

Site prep work in progress. There are a number of spikes (pins) with little orange ribbons in the parking lot. I wonder if they are survey markers for a sales pavilion.

I think this is the location for what was originally planned to be a recreational centre for the towers on Bay Street (i.e., Aria, etc.). With the downtown YMCA literally next door, go figure!

It's too bad the building is not stepped at Sherbourne (i.e., imagine it turned 180 degrees). It would have been nice to have a view of the old church from down the street. The same company demolished the municipal building at 590 Jarvis (X condo site). They do recycle as much as possible. Pro-Green. Fits their name.

Notice that they show only 2 bedroom units. Is this a case of reserving all the 1 bedroom units for the likes of Brad Lamb and friends? (i.e., offer units to real estate investors before Joe Public gets a chance to walk in the sales office). Look at the prices! Ouch!

This monstrosity makes me appreciate the McKinsey building on Charles Street West all the more. Take a look at Ryerson's architecture building just down the street on Church. Blah begets blah.

Far worse are the selfish yahoos who cycle on the sidewalk. I'm waiting for the day when I'm carrying a heavy bag of groceries. Just a gentle swing will do it. Oops!

The CBC reported on the 6 pm news that Mississauga plans for a light rail line from Kipling station to run on Dundas. Also, there was talk of an LRT to the airport from Kipling station.

"It would be cool if they had a model of that somewhere." There was a model on display at the public forum at BCE Place on May 8th, announcing the winning team for the mouth of the Don competition. I'm hoping they add on to it to show the whole waterfront.

I am curious about the one at the south-east corner of Merton and Yonge (1815 Yonge). It's a nice location. Any pictures?

I thought the "pressedboard palace" on the north side Maitland, just west of Church Street, was cheaply constucted. The Jarvis site looks cramped. really cheap and shoddily built.
