I can imagine there's some limitations based on its proximity next to the Gardiner. Reminds me of when they first lit up the Allianz Arena in Munich they would play some pretty trippy light patterns but after that caused too many accidents they had to limit the changes in colours to every few...

Yonge and Lake Shore, Yonge and Gerrard and Yonge and Bloor will make for some nice balance of tall buildings from any east/west view in the coming years.

Cleaning and it unfortunately dries somewhat unevenly which leads to the odd dark patches near the bottom (especially throughout the wetter months).

Good god no. The Carrera marble strips are some of the best details on a building and it's a timeless piece of Toronto architecture.

Do you have floorplans? Curious to see if they lost/gained square footage.

That first render is one of the most convincingly realistic ones I've seen in a long time. It screams Norm Li to me as he always seems to pick just the perfect lighting for these aerial renders.

Left is current render (from the Database) and right is me removing (in photoshop) three stories (with the assumption that they aren't increasing any floorheights, spire, etc.)

Comparison of the two isn't as bad as I thought but still a large difference from the initial proposal (such is life).

It was already looking quite stubby at 60. Chopping off 3 stories for an office building ends up being over 10m which is noticeable, imo. A single set-back as it rises would really improve that, especially as from ground level it would exaggerate the height by creating a more intense vanishing...

This is going to start looking rather stubby with such a large floorplate...

It'll be a beautiful atrium. Can't wait to see the details start to show as this rises.

Not quite that tall. The crown is equivalent to about 6 floors from the top of the core.

I mean "2020". This design is probably over a decade old by now.
