I used an e-bike today. Gotta watch them pedals- they have a life of their own. I often recalibrate the pedals to be in the optimal position at a stop light, but they keep moving on their own and I would hit my shin. Ouch!

My fear about the e-bike expansion is that it will replace mechanical bikes. When an e-bike battery runs out it becomes a dud. TO BikeShare has not been good at moving these to charging stations. I'm concerned we will have fewer working bikes overall and fewer spaces to dock.

I have been checked for ID. It is not all the stations but I do distinctly remember using VIA last year but before vaccination was mandatory. They would have two people checking ids and then funnel you to the one person who scanned tickets.

I got one of the last two bikes at my usual dock. Another dude took the last one right after me. Just as I'm cursing bikeshare again one of the reload trucks pulls up :-D
