Looking very sleek and I really like the font. Tighter kerning would have been my preference, especially the I O N. Perhaps however when lit up at night it will project out a further distance this way.

It would have been nice if the abandoned building to the north was incorporated into this development somehow.

I'm just wondering if anybody knows what are those metallic looking circles that dot the yellow/brown insulation covering the super columns at street level? Are those things somehow affixing the insulation stuff to the concrete? Thanks to everyone posting here, especially the pics, totally...

Ok thanks one more question, will these new wider south platforms be for the first of the electric GO train sets? Or do the rest of the tracks and platforms at Union need to be re-organized before the electrification comes along?

Since it'll be so long, then is it completely impossible to build the Union stub platform for both UP Express trains and regular GO trains like what's already been done at Weston and Bloor stations?

The stub track platform seems like it could become the new terminal for UP Express trains, after vacating its current location so that construction can start there on the Union Centre office tower.

Perhaps they are matter/anti-matter chambers?

I guess I was hoping for an east-west pedestrian tunnel under Dundas West Street, connecting the subway station to these apartment buildings, at least something similar to what's at Dufferin, if only to discourage the jay walking that happens there regularly. I believe there have been traffic...

Designs are supposedly to be finalized by the end of this year and construction to begin sometime next year. But we've heard it all before.. Ideally, there should be a direct underground pedestrian tunnel connection between the GO-UPX station mezzanine and the mezzanine level in Dundas West...

Looking closely, it seems they are using the pre-formed dimples all around the completed sections of the concrete pillars to fasten the platform supports. They are likely not drilling new holes into the concrete for them, but cannot confirm that.
