Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower (Brookfield, 50s, WZMH)

I walked by BA on the way home last night, which happened to be after sunset. The LEDs look absolutely fantastic. They're extremely visible, and bathe the enitre width of Adeliade in a coloured glow. Very, very cool.

Great pic! It'll almost be a shame when 18 York blocks that view. Does anyone know what the scaffolding is for that they've erected behind the north fin? (You can't see it in the pic above, but it's pretty obvious in the last pic posted by Drum118.)

The Met + Encore at The Met (Edilcan, 43 + 33s, P+S) COMPLETE

I noticed this week that there is a Cora's going in to the old Harveys location next door to the MET...that will give Fran's a bit of weekend breakfast competition! EDIT: I just noticed that there has already been an extensive dicsussion of this - my bad!

Toronto St Regis Toronto Hotel and Residences | 281.93m | 58s | JFC Capital | Zeidler

It's really shooting up fast, this intersection will be vastly improved when it's finished. I'm curious to see how the cladding will mask the ramps.

Eeep - I'm not really a fan of the concrete bases on those new streetlights. I wonder why the anchor bolts couldn't have been at grade? The LED lights look pretty cool, and are much better integrated than the similar lighting system that was installed in Commerce Court West's new...

Wow, great designs. That first drawing shows Context using D&S -- I don't think I've ever seen them use anyone but aA (with the possible exceptioin of Tip Top Lofts -- also a restoration. Maybe aA don't touch older buildings?)

Photos of the model with the fins can be found at post #985. The south fin was supposed to be taller. Rather than making them both fins short, it looks to me like they may have increased the hight of the "short" fin to bring it in line with the taller fin? The differing heights looked cool...

Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower (Brookfield, 50s, WZMH)

This was just forwarded to me: Brookfield Properties Achieves Substantial Completion on Bay Adelaide Centre West in Toronto TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jul. 1, 2009-- Brookfield Properties Corporation (BPO: NYSE, TSX) and its Canadian-based subsidiary, BPO Properties Ltd. (BPP: TSX) today...

    Toronto Waterlink at Pier 27 | 43.89m | 14s | Cityzen | a—A

I seem to recall seeing in Waterfront Toronto plans that a narrow strip of land between Captain John's and the future Pier 27 development had been reserved as public space. Hopefully, this implies ownership by the City, who surely would not allow the Captian John's eyesore to stay. I suppose a...

I love that the renders already assume a Starbucks at grade.

    What Toronto street is this?

Harbord? I miss Kensington Kitchen. I tried Tati a couple of weeks ago, but it was nothing special and a tad overpriced. Excellent cocktails, however.

    Toronto Canoe Landing Park | ?m | ?s | Concord Adex

The canoe is admittedly a bit more cartoonish than I was expecting - for some reason I though it might be a little bit more realistic, complete with detailed gunwales and ribs. I am still pretty excited for this park -- maybe T.O. can use a bit of whimsy? I feel like it migh even continue a...

Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower (Brookfield, 50s, WZMH)

Thanks for the information, 41 -- that all sounds tremendously promising, I'll have to walk by on my way home from work tonight. I had been worried that the lot next to the plaza would be covered in gravel and surrounded by chain-link fence until the next buidling boom, as Brookfield has done...

Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower (Brookfield, 50s, WZMH)

From the photos above, it appears that they finally took down the test curtain wall on the back of the adjacent entrance to the parking garage (it was still there when I walked by last week). I wonder if that structure will be getting sprcied up at all so as not to look quite so out of place...

Southcore Financial Ctr: PricewaterhouseCoopers Tower (18 York St, bcIMC, 26s, KPMB)

I can't recall every having seen this much excavation taking place after insertion of the cranes. Anybody know the reason? Or is this more common than I think?

    SkyDome turns 20

A reclad would make a huge difference. Would redbrick or limestone, or a combination of the two, work on this building? Of course, I can't imagine anybody, including Rogers, spending the massive amount of money it would take to cover up all that awful concrete. (Exposed concrete looks...

Best place to view Toronto's skyline?

There is a great view from Sir Winston Churchill Reservoir at the corner of Spadina Road and St. Clair. Although some of the towers are hidden, there is also a great view from the top of the public stairwell that connects the two separate pieces of Spadina Road, directly to the East of Castle Loma.

Best place to view Toronto's skyline?

There is an old-school hotel bar on the roof of the Hyatt, at Avenue and Bloor, that has a killer patio overlooking the downtown core. On a sunny day it is fantastic.
