Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I don't know. I'd wager future civilizations would have difficulty determining if it was in fact attributable to humans.

Oh that's great to hear! Thanks for sharing that. In the section for Nita Gelatin, the Preliminary Assessment section says: "Based on staff's preliminary assessment, the lands should be retained as Employment Areas and continue to be designated as Core Employment Areas." What are city staff...

It's truly a great location with lots of potential: density being built around this area, access to TTC (and maybe GO if Bloor-Landsdowne gets greenlit), future rail trail that goes downtown (sorta), and plenty of great lunch spots. In my opinion, all of that looks good on paper but if I was...

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I'm sorry but the idea of plain clothes officers sitting and waiting for taggers at 2am along the linear park is just hilarious. I can imagine the conversations they'd have as they waited. "Its a sick world out there, man. Last week on my rounds, I nabbed a tagger drawing a penis on one of these...

You can make the punishment as hefty as you want, it isn't going to change behavior if there isn't a way of justly identifying the perpetrator. The police don't have the resources to patrol every wall in the city, nor would people want that level of police presence. Further, high tech cameras...

Wow I am astounded at how thoughtful the developers are being for this true gem of a location. I absolutely love the tall red tower to the south. It is elegant and modern, yet it draws inspiration from the neighbourhood's industrial past. This is exactly what sort of building should be built...

I believe the plan is to clad the noise barriers with anodized aluminum. Certainly not the prettiest option, but I'll take aluminum over concrete any day.

Dundas West/ Bloor Mobility Hub +interconnected hub network (Metrolinx)

I moved into the neighborhood where the tunnel would go in 2018. Every year I’ve been here Metrolinx has teased that things will begin the following year.

After the horror of what they presented in versions 2-4, I'll take this. It's a missed opportunity to build something unique and beautiful that could come to define these developers though.

My expectations for this development have been so low that I would be happy if this were the end result.

Well, one of the biggest obstacles for this site is the Catholic high school on the corner of Bloor and Dundas West. That school sits on land owned by the TDSB but is leased to the TCDSB. From what I last heard about this development, resolving that issue has proven difficult because the TDSB...

https://renx.ca/allied-buy-choice-office-buildings-toronto-montreal-vancouver-794m/ Choice REIT just sold a number of their properties (not including this one) for $794 million. Hopefully this influx of cash will help them move faster on their proposed developments.

    Toronto 1439 Bloor West | 47.75m | 14s | Neudorfer | Barrett

On top of its lack of any visual appeal, it seems that there is no longer any retail planned for the podium, further cementing this area's reputation for being 'the dead part of Bloor. '

Looks like things took a turn for the worse. This building is going to look so bad in comparison to the one proposed next to it.

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

Going north on Keele/Parkside would be a terrible waste. The 2km stretch between Lakeshore Blvd and Bloor is made up of High Park on the west side and 1km of big single family houses to the east. IOW, you waste 2km of the line on land that can't be developed for more density. Personally, I...

Dundas West/ Bloor Mobility Hub +interconnected hub network (Metrolinx)

A moving sidewalk won't be necessary. If you look at a map of where the subway platforms end going eastward you'll find that it is pretty close to where the current Bloor GO station underground concourse is.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

I wonder how politically lucrative it would be for the opposition parties of Ontario to include plans in their election platform for full electrification on the Kitchener line. I mean, for some of us here that might sway some votes, but does the general population care?
