    Montréal Transit Developments

Other than REM extensions to Laval and NDG/Lachine, I'd much rather see investment in passenger-dedicated heavy rail, which could be shared by VIA and exo, on corridors leading to Ottawa/Toronto and Quebec City

    Montréal Transit Developments

    1) I really hope they change the colour. I don't know why they went with just a different shade of green for REM 1, and now they're going for teal. I was hoping we'd use primary/secondary/tertiary colours first. 2) Labelle is listed as an intermodal station (presumably with Berri-UQAM). I...

    Montréal Transit Developments

It makes me realize that Montreal seems to be in a very good position for dealing with the impact of population growth, getting ahead of the curve. Let's hope all the municipalities make good zoning choices...

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

Beautiful building, though. The shop potential is huge, there's a Balzacs right around the corner but I feel like another one may be welcome here.

    VIA Rail

Tracks get ripped up so the freight companies have less to maintain, to streamline their operations. If you one day choose to consider facts, freight is up. In terms of being at capacity, if you reduce the maximum capacity by ripping up track, you will be at a higher utilization rate.

    Intercity Bus Services

If VIA HFR goes through, there should be plenty of local service to those Port Hope, Trenton, Cobourg, Napanee

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

What are you talking about in terms of rail preference in Canada stemming from racism? I prefer rail because after 6 hours on a Montreal-Toronto megabus, my entire body aches but after 5 hours on VIA I feel refreshed

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

Are the grandiose plans for the sheltered transit hub actually likely to happen, or are they more like concept art? I find this project really inspiring but I don't want to get my hopes up too high

    Montréal Transit Developments

If building an elevated light metro is less expensive than building an at-grade LRT system, then build the elevated light metro. And give me some of whatever you're smoking :P

    Montréal Transit Developments

Taschereau has nowhere near enough density yet to demand a light metro service. Today it's still 70% parking lot. Streetcars/LRT systems can have heated shelters.

    Montréal Transit Developments

If they decide on REM they've lost their minds. Taschereau is a perfect route for an LRT, ripe for redevelopment, and perfectly connecting Terminus Longeuil with Panama.

    Toronto Bloor-Yonge Station Capacity Enhancement | ?m | ?s | TTC | AECOM

Upgrading B-Y seems like something that could be more effective whenever the building above are redeveloped. I can’t believe we’d be paying 1 billion for something still so far from optimal on the busiest interchange.
