Since you are here @Northern Light-san, how do you think they're going to get that topiary business to work? I can only see them using mature trees at this point...

Apparently this project is going to keep its address as 1315 Bay St… not 50 Scollard.
I belive this is because the main residential entrance will be on Bay St, rather than on Scollard, so they can't use the marketing name as the final address for the residential tower. Similar thing happened with 411 Church, it's residential entrance is on Wood St so the building ended up being 85 Wood St (I think 411 Church St itself is one of that building's retail units). It's possible 50 Scollard itself ends up as the address of the retail unit since that does have an entrance on Scollard.

Its my understanding they are attempting this with Red Maple, which will have been trained (actively sculpted) into the shapes proposed for the last 3 years.

I haven't seen these.

I have never heard of this being done with Red Maple. (which doesn't mean it hasn't, I don't have a keen interest in topiary) I find the idea .....odd.

I have also never found Red Maple to be urban tolerant, which they claim........... lets see what they actually did.

But to answer the point of your question, whatever they chose, they will need to have it well on its way, in form of growth, which should make moving and transplanting it quite interesting.
