One final look at the two TBMs before Libby launches tomorrow!
Will they be sent on their way by officials breaking champagne bottles in a pomp and ceremonial fashion...

...or will they slip quietly away in the wee hours of dawn's first light?

They already falsely announced the start of tunneling last week during a press conference. Strangely missing from all the news coverage was actual footage of TBM tunneling 😅 Just a bunch of old footage of the cutterhead being shown off.

It'll be a godsend when this is all done. The amount of sports happening right outside this zone more than warrants a better transit method than whats currently on site.
I say this as a TFC fan lol - decent game today, but....absolutely inadequate trabsit coverage fron the GO side of things.

One can look at it like someone eating a large cake. Where the contents of said cake are moved on the conveyor system from the mouth parts to the porcelain dump "truck" waiting in our bathrooms...

...er..it's a little more complicated than that, but you get what I mean. >.<

Unfortunately the TBM hasn't launched but they have taken all the tarps off the front components so there's that. With the work they're doing to the front of the 2nd TBM, my best guess is they want to finish assembling those components before the 1st TBM is moving next to them.

In other Exhibition news: they were taking down the crane closest to the portal today. I'm guessing the gantry crane that is coming is all they will need in this part of the site going forward.

Finally, I'm not sure if this related to Ex Station, but they were repaving everything under the Gardiner between the start of the elevation and the entrance to the GO station.

Well that all looks nicely cleaned up. Wish the rest of the underside of the Gardner looked the same.

Went to check to see if tunnelling had started and it hasn't, but more of the shield and cutterhead for the 2nd TBM are now in the launch shaft.

I've also been made into a liar about that crane closest to the launch shaft that was being disassembled on Friday. Turns out the jib/boom was being swapped out for a much longer one.
