For those of you who bike along the Waterfront Trail, the Jim Tovey Conservation Area in Mississauga (by the Toronto border) will open on Saturday, May 30 and include a rerouting of that trail.

Here you go. Also found a map of the larger Lakeview community. Is there a map of the final trail layout and how it will connect to existing one?
How long before the western connection opens? I imagine it's many years away. Here you go. Also found a map of the larger Lakeview community.

based on pics I took yesterday (Friday, April 24) of the eastern gated off entrance, and of the morass of development happening on the west side, I would agree the western side is a LONG ways away. Maybe they have something planned to skirt along the south edge to connect the trail, but it won't be pretty.Yeah, is it going to dead end at the West side?

The city has posted the design and environmental report on the new lakeside park and waterfront trail extension through Lakeview Village.
I know we're on the edge of cycling infra focus here, but I wanted to share this one larger sized full map (that @TwoWheelPoli shared above) but actually readable if you open it full sized. To add to the above:
Here is a map from that report.

(EDIT: I also discovered a couple months ago that the Lakeview Village Park has some funding allocated to it in the city's 10-year capital plan for parks. The slide below is from a 2026 budget presentation. I'm not sure how quickly it will actually proceed though if the neighbouring housing development is delayed.)

Looks like I spoke too soon. Rode by on the bus again today and there are a couple of sections still without pavement.Forgot to post this on Tuesday. It looks like the bike lanes on Port Union have finally been cleared and are open.
