You know, when the smoke clears on all of this, *if ever* the smoke clears on all of this, we'll probably be finding out *how* blitzed Trump and his cabinet and hangers-on (including the AI-besotted tech billionaires) were on one form or another of artificial stimulant, in liquid or pill or powder or injectable form. It'll make the coke/meth/opiate stories of Hitler and the Third Reich look tame. (And that includes Trump himself--who knows what happens when you mix Adderall, or worse, with dementia; or the cause-and-effect involved)

They're expecting Iran to roll over and capitulate.
The biggest ever military miscalculation by an American president. Not even George W. Bush would have been this stupid.

Iran is not Venezuela or Syria or Grenada or Iraq for that matter. Iran is one of the great civilizational countries with a history of over 3000 years. With a population of almost 100 million occupying a land mass the size of Western Europe there is no way for the now certifiably insane Donald Trump to prevail in his insane illegal unprovoked war of aggression against Iran which Trump is waging at the behest of another country not for the United States. The reality of this war is Donald Trump has turned the US military into mercenaries working for a foreign-born Casino owner and you can be sure his family is getting billions in kickbacks if not now eventually.

What has become evident so far in this war is Iran now effectively controls 20% of the world's energy supply. Iran's stranglehold on the Strait of Hormuz is an even more powerful weapon than nuclear weapons which realistically Iran could never use if they had them. Iran would be wiped off the map.

Another thing that has become very evident from this war so far is Iran is suddenly and unexpectedly emerging as a major world power! Fourth in the world behind China, US, and Russia (in no particular order). Iran is not just the fourth major power in the world it is the Middle East hegemon (sorry Israel). The Gulf Arab states are now at the mercy of Iran. The United States did nothing to defend the Gulf Arab states despite the fact they allowed American military bases targeted solely at Iran to be situated on their land. The GCC will now need to evict American military bases from their lands and repair bridges with Iran.

...so how long are they planning to keep their navy on blockade duty here?

Seems like they're re starting have a resource problem of their own, to put it mildly.
USS Tripoli is the Marine Expeditionary Unit ship that just got there a couple of weeks ago. They sent it to the theatre when the conflict was well underway. These were the proverbial boots that were supposed to be on the proverbial ground. They didn't think of packing their lunch boxes before they went off to war? Or were the marines supposed to scavenge for their own food in Iran?

The above story, for those who haven't clicked through, suggests that at least 2 U.S. navy ships deployed to the Iran theatre are very short on food.

My first instinct was that this was possibly an exaggeration. But through a contact, I am satisfied that there is severe rationing.

To me, that's well and truly bizarre. The Pentagon is not short of budget, solidiers/sailors eat a predictable amount...........so something in the logistics chain has gone badly awry.

I think it would be interesting to hear @kEiThZ take on this, and if he has any insight into the cause.

I try to get my stuff from vetted sources, but in this day of fluid "truths" and dodgy claims even those sources can be fooled. However, I am pretty sure this story has legs.

Certainly brings back memories of a certain former Toronto mayor, does it?

Hey, what's good for Fyre Fest is good for the US military, in the hands of these bozos in charge...

Saw this on reddit.

WOW: A stunning new report in the WSJ reveals that military advisers intentionally excluded Donald Trump from the command room during the recent high-stakes operation to extract a downed U.S. airman in Iran, because they feared his erratic behavior could jeopardize the mission. 1/
