Is there no way for them to cover up the mass damper by extending the glass upwards? Feel like it will be an eyesore
I mean they could've covered it up, but nobody knows what the hell Pinnacle was thinking in leaving it exposed.

The pinnacle (pun intended) of Skytower is going to look very silly, and frankly the costs to cover it would've only been a drop in the bucket compared to the overall costs of this project.

I don't understand why they don't want to. I don't know how much money they are saving by cheaping out but I would think that it is less than 0.2% of the total cost of this one building but it makes a big difference so it doesn't make sense to me. I could be totally off in that estimate though

My bet is on the Mass Damper and room was bigger than planned due to the height increases while the Building Maintenance Unit still needs to clear the glass wall. I guess they could have added a whole new floor for the BMU clearance or they could ask the LTower construction team how to fix this? Nothing money can’t fix.
Maybe clean the windows from ropes?

I still have a hard time believing they won't put glass around at least part of the top when they did for The Prestige (Phase 1).

Agreed. The renderings on Hariri Pontarini Architects website, including recent ones like the one below with the future phases shown, has glass blocking the tuned mass damper.

Not to be pedantic but I’m pretty sure this render actually shows the TMD will be exposed but it won’t be as obvious as we think it’ll be. I wish it was fully enclosed with decorative crown and lighting though.
