Thanks for the photos @AlbertC . I notice in some of your pics that there are still poles holding up the ceilings in the heritage building. Isn't the building already fully affixed to the podium of the new tower by now?

I do notice that the floors and windows don't seem to line up. Maybe it's independent of the tower.

Ugh, I wish the architectural documents were still on the AIC. I can't remember if the glass portion is part of just part of the condo (which would make the most sense) or if they did internal transitions between floor heights within the office spaces.
 
The glass portion and modernist facades do line up, although the main difference is actually at the art deco facade where they have some kind of transition space on the top three levels, to avoid slab edges in the middle of the window openings. If you click the 'Brochure' link you can see some office floor plans, but even with these it's still not clear to me how that space is resolved. It reads like a triple height mezzanine but I don't think it is.
