Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Wow. Where is this from? The loop is like...the fourth most-interesting part of this snippet! Is that (5) meant to be another westward extension of the Crosstown? And what is (7) and (9)?

It looks like it is related to this website, which is a fantasy map. Line 5, 7, 9, X, etc. all line up with it.

It is not official in any way.

Agreed, the names of places in Mississauga are difficult to come up with because most places in Mississauga are fairly nameless. Gardner's Corners (minus the 'i" which is a typo) shows on historic maps for that intersection, and for most people in the GTA "meet me in Fairview" means meet me in the Fairview mall. The issue is that so many places in Mississauga are somewhat nameless. The corner at Eglinton and Hurontario has a high rise cluster, stores, but the only name for the place is "Hurontario at Eglinton" or "the intersection where Emerald is".

There's no need to come up with magical place names for an LRT. Just use the street names, or if you're obsessed with supposed duplication, use the full intersection like plenty of other systems do.

Part 2
Feb 06

All the haft cut poles on the east side of Hurontario from the South Service Rd to PC bridge have finally been removed with the telecommunications cables very high up with wires running from them to the houses. It will be nice to see the west side done this year for better traffic flow especially when the guideway work start.

Various intersections are seeing work done on the corners on the east side south of the South Service Rd to Mineola with heaters in place.

Guideway work got underway in January or beginning of February as it is dug out from Mineola to where the southbound traffic shift to the east side of the guideway by the Dentist place next to Mary Fix Creek Strom water and other utilities being installed in the guideway with parts of it trap, This is one of a number projects to be completed by April, but may miss it if we keep on getting more snow and cold weather.

I am assuming a traffic light will be install for southbound traffic when the Trams are changing to/from the centre to the westside.

More work has been done on the side guideway from where work was done in December as it is all trap off.

Traffic was stop and Go from Park St to Mineola.

Did not see much more glazing and panel work on the south entrance station entrance from the last photos of it that was shot my someone else.

Have a look at the new substation and was wrong how it could be place due to overhead wire. Both sides of the substation have been dug that provident the crane been place there. The crane most likely was place in the area north of the wires next to Hurontario. By the looks, the wires were removed for that area as it is roll up on the Hurontario Pole.

It was easy to have the trailer carrying the substation to make a left turn off Hurontario onto Englewood, but the two right turns onto the side streets took some doing. No idea if the cab when in first or was back in. Very little room to a back in at the site. The other way that could happen the the truck turn left onto the street for the site and backup a block to the site.

I walked/drove this area a couple weekends ago. So this is pretty recent. Nice to see some progress near Mineola.
Relooking at the photos, I have to say guideway work started at the beginning of February with other work in January, but who is to know.

Part 3
Feb 6
Work still on going for rebuilding Trader intersection. What every work took place this month for Matheson intersection was short with the south crossing area close with pillion blocking the area as well part of the eastbound lane.

More fencing has been place the the guideway at Bristol to Trailwood Dr to stop the students crossing the guideway to get to the plaza at lunch as it now runs the full block to the intersection. Hope something is in the work when the full service starts to stop the students doing this crossing of the guideway not only here but at TLK area.

Ties and rail stock pile south of Eglinton for the rest of the guideway that still needs tracks place as well down to the area where the line moves off Hurontario once the guideway is built.

Hard to say if any work for the ramp area connection to Hurontario this year without a up close look.

Tracks are still not installed at the Square One Dr on the south side of it with trap on top of the trackwork for Robert Speck Station.

No photos for this area

Article from the same Board of Trade breakfast meeting. This one reports Ford saying that the loop will cost about 1.6B on top of the 4.6B for the existing project.
Don't forget you still need to add Brampton extension cost to this line that is somewhere around another $3 to $3.5 billion for a total cost $9.2 to $9.7 billion. Getting up to Line 5 cost.

Both extensions will be done by X not Mobilinx. The only thing Mobilinx will do for these extension is the operating and the cost to do it unless maintenance of them become part of their 30 year contract.

X? Is Musk building both bridges and tunnels now?

(I'm not sure what consortium X is ... too many consortiums)
Who every ML & IO gets to build the extension

Second phase has to be bid on, so X is simply just a placeholder.
