It's unfortunate that the TTC just refers to GO services at Kennedy and Mount Dennis as "GO". The reader can't tell which line serves those stations so its usefulness is limited at best. The new subway announcements are the same - "transfer to GO Transit". Well okay, but what GO transit? Which line? Is it a train station or bus stop? If signs like this show specific subway lines then they should also show specific GO rail lines. Which agency runs it should be irrelevant.

A truly integrated transit system for the GTA is still a long way off.

Is this line opening in 118 hours (5 days) from now? or is it delayed again?
Wait tell TTC meeting on Tuesday to hear when considering all other other levels have said Feb 8 with TTC notices posted at various stop for Feb 8

In advance of today's announcement, I'll take credit for having made a couple of predictions.

1. I made a joke that Line 5's opening should be regarded as a rivalry with NASA, who are planning their moon rocket launch for Feb 8, "at the earliest". Either the TTC or NASA have the option of changing their date to a later one, so it's still a race. Making it a rivalry might encourage the TTC to be bold and stop delaying. If both events do happen Feb. 8, Line 5's will be in the early morning, so we could still beat them by hours, though I have no idea what time of day NASA would be doing their launch, so they could still get theirs in ahead of ours.

2. I made another joke that early or late launch date should be decided on Groundhog Day, depending on whether the train sees its shadow. Today's announcement is going to be 2 days later. But it was close.
