Today was the appeal hearing of the Cycle Toronto judgement that the Ontario law to remove bike lanes is unconstitutional. Here you can read a 130-odd post thread on Blue Sky summarizing the arguments.
I have to say, unusually, I'm leaning a bit more to someone else's pov than yours on this......
I'll tell you why. I have a friend whose now been hit by E-Bikes as a pedestrian, twice, both times, while walking on Bloor St, and was seriously injured once.
I'm more than happy to agree than car drivers need to be held to obey the law as well; no question there. But I accept than E-Bike riders have become a nuisance on several streets riding on sidewalks. I've encountered it with some close calls on Spadina. I'll tell you frankly the last time, I saw the rider out of the corner of my eye coming from behind) and he was too fast, and too close. I spun around and while prepared to jump out of the way, put my arm out as a stop sign and forced him to stop. I, ahem, suggested he move his bike off the sidewalk.
I'm not quick to anger, normally, I'm very laissez-faire and often think we live a in city that's a bit too pencil-pushy w/the rules. But on this file, I've had enough. So if I'm there, I guarantee we're at risk of seeing altercations; I would argue police enforcement is the better choice.
Yes but, it won't get on record as an event. If you don't report, the city will claim there are less collisions and work contrary to what I assume you are trying to accomplish...I considered calling the police but what are they going to do, no license plate, he was wearing a helmet so no face.
A public consultation for the Horner Avenue Road Safety Improvements will be held on Monday, February 2 (6 - 8 PM) at Alderwood Pool Meeting Room (2 Orianna Drive). If you can't make it, you can submit your feedback by Friday, February 13.

Horner Avenue Road Safety Improvements
January 2026: Attend the Public Drop-In Event on February 2 and complete the survey before February 13. The City is proposing cycling and road safety upgrades on Horner Avenue and Foch Avenue to improve safety for all road users. The proposed changes will be designed and consulted on in two...www.toronto.ca
To save @Northern Light the hassle, I included a few relevant screen grabs from the PDF.

It's only a matter of time until one of them rolls up next to me in a bikelane without a bell or any other indication and I end up accidentally punting them into traffic or a pole. Play dumb games win dumb prizes. It was a matter of time, got hit by an e-scooter, the guy ran a solid red light at Queen and Bay, didn’t even attempt to slow down. I got a good bruise to show for it. I considered calling the police but what are they going to do, no license plate, he was wearing a helmet so no face.
Wonder if there's a need to make a separate thread for this project? Or does one already exist?
Thanks. I tried the search function and didn't see anything for some weird reason. You ask, I answer:
Mid Humber Gap Trail Study (City of Toronto)
Has there been a time since 1954 when the river actually rose to that degree in that section? - Paul There have been floods since 1954 that have surpassed that level of flooding in other rivers of the City. But the Weston? I don't believe so. Danurbantoronto.ca

Weird there aren't millions dying on other sections of the trail when it floodsSome coverage in the Toronto Star about the Mid Humber Gap and the stubborn resistance from the Weston Golf & Country Club.

It’s taken years for the city to close a tiny gap in this 65-km public trail. The trouble? A 110-year-old private golf course lies in the way
Toronto has finally decided to expropriate part of the Weston Golf and Country Club, a private course that has been open since 1915.www.thestar.com

This morning, I used my day off work to do some errands and get some takeout in the east end. I documented the bike lane conditions on my blog and unfortunately, there are bike lanes that are still blocked 17 days after the storm! Will include a few pictures below to show the good such as Danforth and the bad such as Cosburn and Chester Hill.

A fine line has to be drawn between accommodation due to the major snowstorm and outright incompetence. Having said that, I attribute a lot of the blame on John Tory for coercing council to approve that horribly flawed snow clearing contract in late 2021 when he was mayor, though the City still needs to do everything possible to do better on this front.Cosburn east of Woodbine, leading into Westlake has had so much of an issue w/snowbanks the TTC could only run the bus in one direction (no room for two buses to pass), with the other direction diverting up to Lumsden (Mortimer).
The East York area, has had a real issue, even sections of Danforth were only being done yesterday. (work began on Danforth several days ago, in the more westerly section).
I'm sympathetic with staff, they've had crews out every day, but there just aren't enough personnel and equipment to address everything in a timely way.
