President Donald Trump's United States of America

Since territorial expansion seems to be on the menu of our southern neighbours, maybe now is a good time for Canada to revisit acquiring the Turks & Caicos Islands as has been floated numerous times in the past. Politely, of course!
Great idea. Turks & Caicos isn't even on the list of 75 nations that can no longer get visas to the USA.

It's just another day in the United States of Russia...

FBI raids home of Washington Post reporter in ‘highly unusual and aggressive’ move

Agents searched Hannah Natanson’s Virginia home and seized devices in inquiry tied to a classified materials case
When I see groups of heavily armed, anonymous or masked government agents detaining people in public spaces, I can’t help but think about the original justification for widespread civilian gun ownership in the United States. Isn't the 2nd Amendment meant to serve as a safeguard against the unchecked use of state power, and to ensure that no government could operate beyond accountability or instill fear through force alone?

I'm hoping this gives EU a good kick in the butt to finally start taking their security into their own hands.

That will show the Americans!

I haven't seen the CNN story, but somehow I think it's not comparable to what is happening now with thousands of agents being deployed, going door to door with weapons drawn, stopping people on the street, dragging people out of cars or their place of employment, and more. ICE was always a thing. Deporting illegals was always a thing. But today's ICE is not 2016's ICE.

And Trump's rantings about violent criminals, murderers and rapists (and child sodomizers according to Noem) are not reflective of reality.

Once an independent Greenland ceases to be under the Danish jackboot (sic), it would be a great candidate for Belt and Road.
Has it been mentioned that this is the real reason.
The USA does not want to invest Billions (Trillion?) of dollars on norhtern defense in Greenland only to have the Chinese infiltrate the country and have control (or influence) on the defenses - rendering them worthless.
USA has seen many countries quite close to them fall under Chinese influence.

Look at a map. Understand that Russia and China especially are too far to control Greenland in any way. Especially given that two NATO nuclear powers stand in the way. Stop this nonsense Trump 🍄 riding.

If you put it this way, maybe USA does have to get Greenland. It's actually twice as far from USA as it is from Russia.
It's ripe for the pickings.
(assuming Russia is allowed to move along the 3-dimensional sphere that is earth and not constrained by the Mercator directions).
