Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I thought that the TTC putting up maps with line 5 on them meant it was a couple weeks from opening. If it's really not opening for a couple months+, then that was a really dumb move.
Because they would have to reprint and install new maps again not long after doing that for the Finch West line.

Really hope Steve's prediction about mid-Feb is wrong

Line 6 achieved substantial completion on Nov 12 and will open on Dec 7; that's 25 days. 25 days from today is Tuesday, December 30. Changes always happen on a Sunday and the Sunday that follows Dec 30 is Jan 4. A mid-Feb opening would be mind boggling, as if the TTC had no idea that Line 5 would open anytime soon

And if they had put up maps with only the 6 on them, and had to reprint them a month or two later with the 5 on it, you guys would be complaining at how much money they're wasting.
Can't speak for others but I wouldn't be complaining lol

Let this 2026 story run for a few more days then….
Imagine if it opened in 2025. Where are the RSD operators working today? Keep them
going. Maybe pick up some riders for fun too.

Would everyone be talking about the good news vs the years of bad news if they opened “early”?

The TTC and Mx are still working through some issues.

TTC expects those issues to be resolved and an opening date agreed on by the end of January.

So I would not anticipate an opening before February.

I would imagine they will try to line up the opening with either the February or March Board period.

What's this based on?

Lmao another quarter gone? Unbelievable.

What issues btw?

If you mean that I know there are issues unresolved? I just know.

If you mean what the technical details are, I'm not privy to the full list, there are members here who may see fit to share more, or not, at their discretion.

In the press release it mentions "With this rigorous testing complete and final preparatory works underway, it is expected the Eglinton Crosstown LRT will open to the public in the coming weeks."

Weeks would be less than 8 ish weeks in my strong opinion meaning by Sunday, February 1. Anything later would just be silly.
