It does seem to have stolen the unwanted crown from the Otrain.

It's beginning to feel like this and Line 6 are never going to open. I mean I know they will open, but this is nuts

Some of the mess they did on the Confederation Line was unrepairable like filling the sewer line with concrete. It is really different to out do that project.

Who knows, they might have done something worse and are trying to hide it.

Someone said that Hurontario's delay is proportionally worse than Eglinton's. And we still have lots of time for even more delays on Hurontario. So I sadly think Hurontario will take the crown :-/

And just imagine the day that the real construction actually gets started with the Hamilton LRT, that one will find a way to be monumentally worse than both Eglinton and Hurontario.

One danger sign of "worse and trying to hide it" is how the Ontario government was gleeful about doing an inquiry around the confederation line and even made a big deal about threatening to not fund future extensions due to mismanagement, yet has shut down any attempt of a similar inquiry for Eglinton. This is despite the project being old enough to blame any problems on the previous Liberal government

Shhhhhh! You'll hurt the feelings of the Metrolinx employees/execs lurking about! To them, Eglinton Crosstown is one of the mOsT aMbiTiOuS LRT projects in the whole wide world. Such a project is well deserving of a $13 billion+ cost.

Has RSD resumed? Saw 8 trains, eastbound between Kennedy and Wynford. They were running about 4-7 minutes apart.

Additionally, it appears Kennedy station's Line 5 barriers were removed.

I passed by Steeles/Hurontario a couple weeks back. Still relocating utilities on the side. I was having trouble remember what was the opening date again? Is it 2028 or 2029? It looked like Finch in 2021 so... 2031 is a safe bet?

I have a little laugh seeing these ads every day. While I get it, this is a way of reminding local folks not used to street level transit that it's dangerous to cross, this is still a 30 minute walk from the nearest street level track (at the Don River) for trains...and obviously faster by bus.
Heck, these ads should be in parts of the city and the GTA where tracks do pass by at grade.
While I can believe the signal systsm is a big factor in holding up the delay of this project, I just can't see past the big picture here - this is a way past due, compromise of a true cross-city transit line. I can't wait for it to open...but at the same time, I don't believe it's open until we can take a train and its open continuously, full stop.

Not sure if this is news, but in addition to the renaming of Eglinton West to Cedarvale Station, they are opening the "new" Line 5 entrances to permit underground crossing starting this Sunday. I think this will mark the first time any Line 5 station facilities will have been open to members of the public?

I was aware of the underground passageways opening, but making the name switch now is news to me.
