@mferna

Really appreciate all your story chops that enlighten and entertain many lazy-ass UT cult members (like moi) ... who don't contribute much ;) ... one minor quibble, many of the story links replace the forum thread we're reading rather than opening in a new tab.

Props for your hard work.
Don't diminish yourself. Your renders are wonderful.

Comment: Better, but I don't see how a 10% + reduction in size meets either the letter or the spirit of the law. I would accept a 1 or 2% variance, but at some point, like is just not all that like.

Comment, still too many small units; also swapping rental for condo is not a good shift.

There, that should keep everyone amused.

I love the clarified podium. I was worried from the previous render of it that they were settling on something a bit inferior, less committed to a full matching restoration that what we're seeing now. Despite the differences visible in the floor heights between sides, and that upper glazed wraparound, its a proper homage. The whole thing looks more cohesive and solid.
I also love the increased height on the central tower. It feels like a happy fulfillment of the complex's original promise. Personally, I wish it had a more deco-like symmetrical composition, but that's just me, and tiny potatoes.
All in all, it's looking really good. The podium alone is cause for celebration. Coupled with all the activity and visual oomph the new towers will bring, it's damn impressive. It's wonderful that everyone involved seems to love the original, and wants to make the very best of it.

Yowza!

I'm just quoting the 2 posts so I can compare them more easily. But for the podium itself, I find it hard to see much difference to be honest. At least along Yonge Street.

Edit: Not sure why the pictures in the second post just show up as attachments instead of being in the post itself.
