Wait, RSD hasn't been resumed yet? Based on the posts here (page 1894), I thought it resumed back on Saturday, October 25. I've been seeing a bunch of trains run back and forth today as well - none of this is RSD?

If RSD is still paused, then I assume an opening by the Dec 21 board period is hopeless then

Based on the previous activity I saw, it seemed to me to have resumed at the date I reported previously, but as of yesterday, there were few trains (and only 1 I saw westbound), they were stopped or moving slowly, the signs were not synched up with anything on the tracks/trains seemingly. Not sure how long the situation I saw yesterday has been the case.

Can confirm the trains are running today and have been running everyday since Oct 25 (the date users here started spotting the trains again after the pause) - I'm on Eglinton often so I'm able to see them multiple times a day

Same. Last weekend, I saw a train stop at Lebovic and open the doors.

"Sarkaria, asked by reporters about the details of the incident, said the “minor incident happened between ... two trains in the maintenance yard, caused by human error.” He did not clarify further when asked by reporters.

“This is a very isolated incident and happened in the maintenance yard. It was not on the main line in any way, shape or form,” Sarkaria said, emphasizing that the incident could not happen on the main line, where trains would be ferrying passengers when the LRT opens."

That is... bizarre. Isn't the yard supposed to be under full automatic operation?

While they haven't done any testing for the purposes of the RSD as it is not going to be part of the revenue service plan on day 1, they have operated and tested into the spare tracks at Laird many times and under many scenarios. The maneuver is sound.


They are still not able to build up to the amount of service that they need to in order to resume the RSD.

The yard is full automatic operation. Obviously some of the switch configuration got messed up in the yard and it created an edge case where queuing up just the right sequence of routes resulted in the incident.

The TTC will open the bus terminal at Mount Dennis to passengers starting November 16, coincident with the Mount Dennis GO/UPX station opening.

Cedarvale Station will partially open on that date too.

Right. But then what is the human error? Unless he's referring to someone messing up the switch configuration, which, while I guess not technically incorrect, does feel like it's rather misrepresenting the truth...

I will sit on a camping chair and watch any and all Line 5 Eglinton trains for 30 minutes this Sunday. Last weekend at 8pm they were hardly running trains. Let's see what happens this time around.

I still rue the day that the Liberals took this from the TTC, we would have been riding this line starting ten years ago, and the same political crap led to the loss of the Sheppard and Scarborough LRT's, and many Billions wasted.

Perhaps the TTC would handle it better, but riding starting ten years ago? not very likely. Only if the funding came ten years earlier.

I rue the day that Mike Harris cancelled the Eglinton subway, which is how we got into this mess to begin with. Building subways was much cheaper back then. And we definitely overpaid for an inferior product. I still support the line we got, but a subway would have been much better I think. Subway vehicles just have so much more space versus a low floor LRT vehicle. Sometimes I think we got the worst of both worlds by spending so much on a line with so much grade separation with LRT vehicles, and it makes me worried that it'll be overcrowded, but if the usage doesn't overcrowd the LRVs then I am ok with it. TBD.
