CANADA: The Ontario government has reached an agreement-in-principle to purchase land from freight railway CN to enable it to construct dedicated tracks for GO passenger train services on the route between Toronto and Kitchener.

No as there isn't enough service needs to justify it.
The province buying land all the way to KW would benefit GO 100% to meet the Hourly service as well look at extending the line to Statford that would see a few trains a day, It then could be extended to London at some future date using a different train setup. It is time to look a small trains to various markets in th place of 12 car trains.

If VIA were to look at purchasing and upgrading tracks, those west of Kitchener would be a far better candidate, unless the province revives its ambitions to service London on its own account.
