It may not be "part of the Crosstown LRT" but it "is one with the Crosstown LRT" (much like the Eglinton Connects streetscape) in it lethargic delivery. All three components were part of the early public sessions to sell the benefits of then "Transit City" and the LRT. The first post in this Caledonia Station forum thread had pictures, but it was discussed in 2010 that this is was to be a future station. Josh Matlow keeps on wanting to have a big investigation into what went wrong with Eglinton LRT, but the real mystery (now that Caldonia GO is starting construction) is where is Eglinton Connects and it is actually city jurisdiction. I guess Metrolinx delivering the Crosstown LRT in 17 years didn't give the city enough time to plan after those 60 public consultations over 2 years back in 2012-2013.

You mean, the buses are going in and out of the station without passengers on board? Sounds like the whole system is turning into a ghost service.

There are stops at the no frills there and that's where people were getting on and off but the bus continued up to the station after that 'final' stop. At least as far I could see! I hung around for about 5 mins

They are using the new station only to turn buses around since the Eglinton buses are still in their pre-Line 5 configuration. The stop at the No Frills makes it easier to transfer to the 32. Once Line 5 opens the last stop will be the station and the 32 and 34 will start and end there.

They should keep that stop there for people wanting to shop at No Frills but you know the TTC, they don’t understand about people’s convenience.

Back in the EA days, there was a plan to run the buses from Black Creek onto Photography Dr instead of having them turn at Eglinton and then turn again onto Keelesdale Rd. Too bad Crosslinx blocked that road with their construction stuff.

I certainly wouldn't want to stop drivers from having a washroom break.
I doubt that is the issue. If drivers pull into the station and let passengers walk out through the station doors, or transfer to another bus on the platforms, it doen't stop them from taking a break.
Unless... Please don't tell me Metrolinx has the staff washroom doors blocked off, and won't let drivers use them until opening day for insurance reasons!

I believe the bus terminals haven't be officially certified and transferred from Crosslinx to Metrolinx so it'll remain off limit to the public till that happens.

We were talking about washrooms for drivers, not passengers. But even so...
Oh no. We all know everything has to be in operation before the line can open. That means if the toilets aren't working, opening day will have to be delayed!
The only other option is:
"Genetlemen will please refrain...", etc.

You were talking about letting passengers walk out the station door and that is the NO part not the operator washroom. The public isn't suppose to access the off limits zone.

Each subway station (and LRT station) will have washrooms (plural) for TTC (and Metrolinx) staff, drivers, and operators to use. They have a key for that purpose. Like the washroom key for dentists and doctors. If passengers ask very nicely, they may or may not get a TTC (or Metrolinx) employee to use the facilities.
