Took a walk down to Dundas to do a few things before picking up the rental car, as well as having a look at the corridor. I then took a quick drive to Steeles before heading into Toronto
Central Pkwy – Fairview
Both tracks were installed between the 2 intersections, with space left for the Fairview intersection work that may take place this year in 2 phases. Crew was working to align the southbound track at CP with clamps holding the intersection rail, as well as the new rail that will be spliced later. Brackets are installed to hold the rails in place as well as for spacing between the two rails, as well as the guideway wall. Once the measurements met the specifications required for the tie work, the rails were clipped to the tie. Another survey was taking place for the tracks.
Fairview -CP bridge
The northbound track has been installed to where there the centre curb start, with part of the southbound track also installed. The crew is installing the steel mats up to Fairview, allowing the remaining ties and rails to be installed.
Stockpile of rails and steel mats south of the tracks that is in place.
The excavator was doing grading and removal of dirt on both sides of CP bridge. It was also preparing the areas to see some backfilling before final grading takes place to pour the base of the guideway. The compact roller was working on the backfill material for both tracks base the Cooksville station
John St To Hillcrest
Stockpile of steel mats about the middle of the two intersections that are diagonal in the guideway, which almost take up the full width of the guideway.
Hillcrest-Dundas
A couple of stockpiles of steel mats by TLK setup like the John St To Hillcrest stockpile.
Dundas
The south-east corner road has been repaved, including the bus stop area, as well as stripping the crossing walkway. Work is still going on in a smaller area with a vacuum digging the hole.
Bott Construction is still working on the area between Britannia and the 401 eastbound off-ramps with a single lane of traffic. I need to get a closer look at what is taking place there. The same thing may happen to the southbound lanes.
Courtneypark intersection
The intersection is fully closed to all east-west traffic as the concrete for the tracks is being removed, as well as some other work.
Topflight intersection
A huge crew is on site at the intersection, and it looks like all the trackwork is done, waiting for concrete work
Paving has been done on the south side of the 407 bridge as well as the bridge, including part of the 407 eastbound ramp. Nothing on the north side
Brampton is still a dead zone.
OMSF
All the construction fencing has been removed on Kennedy for the site, with concrete barriers still in place. The best I could see as well-being wrong was 6 LRVs on one track in the yard.
QEW
Hydro has removed the wires from the 4 poles that need to be removed to allow the opening of the southbound lanes. It looks like those wires are now underground, as more poles are being installed to the north, with the wires going underground.
South-East South Service Rd corner curb in place as well lane paved. It still needs curb work for the north-east corner, as well as relocation of the hydro pole.
