Ashbridges Bay Treatment Plant Landform Project

No, the public area is a (welcome) added benefit of the other parts of this huge project. Of course, I too would have liked more publicly accessible land but....

BTW The TRCA site appears to be having difficulties today - too many UTers trying to read full document?
Agreed, awesome project, and amazing to hear new trails and park space will be added. Looking forward to checking out the deck when the Bad Gateway resolves itself.

I am looking forward all the "openings" over the next few years: this one, East Don, Portlands. As well as little ones like Cudmore Creek, Chester Springs, Taylor Massey updates. Some great projects and added outdoor space for the city!

Great! I will do some digging to find out what the public accessibility plan is.
This was discussed a while ago and the answer seems to be that the Spit (Tommy Thompson Park) will expand to the shoreline BUT there will not be any public access through the Ashbridges Bay Water Treatment Plant (as one might expect.)

Here is a map from TRCA website:

Though this work (which is alongside the west side of the main road between the Leslie/Unwin entrance and the Nature Centre is actually in Tommy Thompson park it is adjacent to the new Landform so I put it here:

The TRCA website has this photo of the "completed Headlands" and I noticed last week they seemed to be erecting fencing to separate this area from the Water Treatment plant section

I'm still pretty upset they're blocking off so much of the landform. At minimum, access around the perimeter should be public. We has an opportunity to fill a gap between two large chunks of public shore and struck out.
